Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

wow!!! that was current gen???? they said the new gen will be shown at tgs. 30fps for ps3 60fps for ps4. i cant wait i like everything the shown except for kiefer. its funny, they mentioned that the critics really werent happy with his performance. i wonder what he thinks about that, its racking my brain right now. i wonder if hes telling himself "oh well, its just a video game. not like its a big "A" list movie or anything". stupid douche.

Guys, here's a new trailer for MGS V, with the addition of quick-regenerating health :lol.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

with the new features almost sounds like Splinter Cell

Yup. Kojima really isn't pushing this series forward anymore. Instead of innovating, MGS V sounds like a cut-and-paste of games that we've already seen before; Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Uncharted, Mass Effect, GTA, etc. Yawn...

I actually favor the older style of game-play from the previous entries in the series. You know... when there was a thing called "Tactical Espionage Action", and the games focused on stealth, instead of trying to copy typical run-and-gun shooters.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It sounds like hes taking alot of the great aspects of other games, like better narritive pacing, much better animation, no-hud, smoother control. So its all gravy for the most part.

faster paced gameplay sounds awesome too, since Snake (at least Solid) is very light on his feet and moves fast like VanDamn, so why not incorperate that into gameplay. Id really love a re-imagened MGS1 with Open world Shadow Moses and quick movement

with the new features almost sounds like Splinter Cell

This is one thing i have no compass for, the only Splinter Cell i played was the very first and i hated it so never played another.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

im usually on the same mindset as you but i disagree this time. yeah the open world elements of this game really do copy other games as you say. but, every bit of gameplay i saw was completely focused on stealth. the ability to snatch weapons is excellent. you can dash and jump to buildings. its also awesome that you can evade via vehicle when you need to get out fast. im really pumped for this game now.

Yeah, Kiefer is a Hollywood actor, and he's not as invested in this series as David Hayter was. It'll be hilarious if he just suddenly drops-out of MGS V mid-way because of other projects that require his immediate attention (especially since Kojima mentioned that MGS V will be released in a span of episodes). In fact, I hope and pray that it happens; just to teach Kojima a good lesson about treating people with respect, and NOT firing dedicated employees like Hayter.

Kojima knows respect, he's all over Troy Baker on Twitter. It's like they have a thing going y'know!

Well, I guess that my main point is, that MGS just isn't as innovative as it was before. It's starting to look more-and-more like every other game that we've seen and played - compared to previous years when it actually pioneered the stealth genre. A lot of people will say that MGS V is "pushing the series forward" or innovating it in some way. But to me, the series has sacrificed its identity, in favor of becoming like everything else.

The roof-top running (with that trademark Ezio jump), and close-quarter disarmament reminds me totally of Assassin's Creed. Not to mention the Splinter Cell lock picking that was described in the video :lol.

Let's face it, Kojima is just fresh out of ideas.

And yet, there isn't a single picture with him and Hatyer. It's sickening how he's so much into Hollywood.

Bah! Of course it is! I mean, didn't you saw this?

I was counting on you to bring that up! MGS V... bringing sexy back :rotfl :slap

Kojima's just asking to get trolled by a fat nudist cosplayer in fish-net stockings.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I dont follow MGS but this story has been everywhere and man is it pissing people off. I for one think it looks unrealistic. You can be hot and not look like a hooker while fighting. Claire redfield, lara croft, chun li, and more. That just looks weird lol

He's a snobbish pervert Japanese man with bad teeth.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Kojima really sounds like an idiot in this interview :lol

During a roundtable discussion this week, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and other Phantom Pain contributors contextualized previous comments about making Metal Gear Solid V characters more erotic. "Maybe the phrase 'erotic' wasn't really correct with what I was trying to say," Kojima said. "What I'm really trying to do is create unique characters. One is, of course, Quiet, she's a really unique character." We wanted to add that sexiness. It wasn't very erotic, but, more of the sexy."

Artist Yoji Shinkawa elaborated, stating that he wants everything in Metal Gear Solid to be sexy. "It's not just the characters, but often I look at a character or vehicle and feel, 'wow, that's sexy.'"

Nobody contextualized the difference between sexy and erotic.

"Of course I was surprised by Quiet's outfit at first, but, you know, it fits in the Metal Gear universe, I think," said Stefanie Joosten, who provides the likeness and voice for the character. "I don't think I'm allowed to say a lot about it," she said, "but Mr. Kojima has his reasons for deciding, and Quiet has her reasons for what she's wearing."

:exactly:

Even like that, I don't get why people get so angry :slap .. if they don't like it then don't watch it, I heard one of the guys at 343 got mad and said the gaming industry is full of "man childs" or pervs, not sure what he said.

I don't like the look on that character, but talking like that was uncalled for I don't get the hate on Quiet, MGS women always had that style
