Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal gear solid used to be innovative

Now it can't even expand and evolve with dignity it has to rip off others that have already done stuff

If that's an advancement you like then that's fine but I remember when it was genre setting, not genre splicing

MGS is still being innovative.

I don't even see how it's ripping off other games, I can see how it's taking one or 2 superficial features from other games, that, I can't deny, but ripping off? :lol

I'd argue that the FOX engine is being innovative. MGS is being simply being milked, after the series had already reached its conclusion. Like I said before, this is practically the only viable franchise that Konami has at their disposal.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So, you heard one line from Sutherland on the trailer, and decided that he was good? Dude, unless you've watched 24 and seen his movies, you can't really make that type of judgement :lol. I've been following his career for years, and I don't think he's a good choice for MGS at all... just my opinion, though :monkey3.

I decided that what I heard was good and was a breath of fresh air, nothing more.

I'm accepting the possibility that it can still be crap :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Alot of people have said it. Don't get me wrong it's got some flashy new stuff to make you get hyped and to cover the fact it's basically using gameplay traits of already existing games instead of just creating it's own

It reached it's conclusion chronologically, but there are always things to explore, if there another Big Boss game THEN I will accept that it's being senselessly milked and that Kojima hates SS.

The logical way to go after MGSV is the remakes and the remakes only.

I wouldn't doubt we'll get yet another, droning, I'm still crying over the Boss game.

Star Wars has reached it's conclusion chronologically, but there are always things to explore, if there another Anakin Skywalker movie THEN I will accept that it's being milked.

I've replaced "MGS" with "Star Wars" in your quote. Read it, and tell me how it sounds. Then think back to MGS and Big Boss :lol.

Milked for sure, but now that it is actually changing quite a bit, the people on here are having problems with that. Can’t please everyone but I am excited.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

A game where the main bad guy has suddenly become the main good guy who has had 4 more games than the original protagonist isn't milking the franchise or more specifically big boss?

I'd argue there's more to tell of Solid now than Big Boss. His outings are more interesting anyway and they didn't need retcon any of his into an already pre existing story and timeline to fit

I think Big Boss’ outings are actually more interesting.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I agree with that, at this point there's more to tell about Solid Snake and I want to see more of him.

MPO, PW and MGSV all look like the same game to me in terms how their built/gameplay.
