Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think Big Boss’ outings are actually more interesting.

The only interesting ones were MGS3 and the upcoming title IF they hasn't reconnect so much of the story so we could see how BB established outer heaven and Zanzibar land

Are you seriously telling me PW & TPP are better than MG1 & 2? MGS1. 3 was epic and they should have gone straight to we're the story is heading in 5

MGS4 story was a joke shouldn't really have been made

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

At risk of being cyber bullied, I'm loving the no-hud gameplay, the fact that you can only tell between the alert phases by music and just looking all around, makes it more interesting for me.

Seriously, it all seems pretty innovative to me, and I don't mind the "mark" feature, but I'd rather for it not to exist.

Dang... 10 + pages of arguing. I'm going out for a Big Mac. Later peeps!

Provecho :wave

You’re right, I said what I said based on 3. I like it the best of them all. I liked 4 a lot as well, I get why everyone hates it, but I think the good far outweigh the bad.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

A game where the main bad guy has suddenly become the main good guy who has had 4 more games than the original protagonist isn't milking the franchise or more specifically big boss?

I'd argue there's more to tell of Solid now than Big Boss. His outings are more interesting anyway and they didn't need retcon any of his into an already pre existing story and timeline to fit

:slap

I'm gonna get this game and the prequel for my 360 (forgot the name) this franchise has gotten weird as ****, but since MGS was one of the best games I played... I feel like giving this a chance

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

4 is only good if you base it purely on gameplay and as a sort of stand alone edition if you will, and not joined onto the series because in it's attempts to 'patch up' the gaping plot holes it actually completely tears it apart.

This is of course my opinion based on following the games and storyline. Basically a big fat turd right in the face of the people who were truly into the story they had made and where it had brought us up to in the series previous to it (& PW)

:exactly:

Such a let down from where MGS2 left off.

I think it did a pretty good job for a series like Metal Gear since the the whole story isn’t mapped out like other franchises.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's not really just about the specifics although there are some obvious like the jumping etc, it's about the whole idea of the game we are disagreeing on

I do like the subtle changes like that, they will most likely enhance the gameplay more.

But that's not really a fundamental, more of a detail of the fundamental sneaking. If you get what I'm trying to say

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well technically it wasn't the games story alone at fault there were changes made to the story before it so those I guess can be partially to blame for it but they had already blasted enough holes in the timeline and changed too many critical points for it to ever truly be good

In terms of story 4 was destined to fail before it was even made. Kojima had already dug himself into a hole he wasn't getting out of. Downfalls of a man who just did not want to carry the series on

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The HUD elements being discreet and only knowing the alert phase through the music are elements of the sneaking gameplay format, like a detail of a main core part, but not the core itself

I don't think I do, please elaborate.

Yea agree with that. It would have been tough to follow up the complicated story of 2 and also give the series, or Snake I should say a great finale. The Phantom Pain, seems to have him really excited though which story wise is a good thing.

Excuse me for being retarded but I still don't see where you're getting at :lol

Yes those are minor elements, which I appreciate, I also appreciate the new way of doing stealth, more fluid and still doesn't look anywhere near as casual as Splinter Cell, of course is the AI that will determine that.

In fact, I always wondered since MGS3, why on earth can't you run and be silent at the same time? A true sneaking master would be able to run at certain speed and still be quiet, which is what somewhat we're getting now.

Jumping, about time :lol As long as it doesn't become Uncharted.

I think my point is that, even if it shares some superficial elements, it's not ripping of any game in the slightest.

Just look at the last of us, the control schemes and layout and overall way to play it is VERY similar and still it's nothing like Uncharted.

Which is the worst case scenario of a game downright copying systems off another.

TLOU from start to end reminded me of the new Tomb Raider but with half of the abilities missing

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hey guys what's going on here..? Oh..

So reading 15+ pages what I gathered was:

1) Kojima lost his mind.
2) Mei Ling was 18 in MGS1.
3) Keifer was just being Keifer in MGSV.
4) Keaton is the best live action Batman.

1) Yup.
2) I forgot. But on the other hand, Meryl was 17 in MGS1 and I had to change my custom Meryl body to reflect that.
3) Fraid' so.
4) Damn right.

Is that good or bad, Kiva? You know how I feel about the new Tomb Raider. :lol

TLOU is the most over rated game in the last 10 years as far as im concerned. I really dont get why people like it. It has no story (once you find out the Ellie secret early in the game nothing progresses not even in the ending), the gameplay feels like Watered down new tomb raider and the relationship between Joel and Ellie is like a flipped around Jake & Sherry Birkin.

And i see these " its all about Joels relationship forming with Ellie replacing her as a daughter and protecting her ". Crapppp. Its just a game where you sneak around in waist high cover killing humans and the odd mutated. Such a lack of monster designs too, Clickers were lame, theres only like 4 bloaters in the game and nothing else apart from mildly crazed humans.

Not that i dislike the game or anything.
