Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Keep vehicles, lose marking, use AI from MGS4 but tougher.

Now that someone brought up the SOP on MGS4O, it sounds even less grounded to say they copied the marking thing from Batman.

Batman had skeletons, SOP had actual silhouettes, just like in GZ's demo.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It seems like this game is far from complete. It's looking ridiculous on KojiPro's part, because they rushed to show a demo with poor enemy AI, and peculiar things inspired from Batman Arkham. Now they're not even sure if they want to keep certain elements in the game... :lol :slap.

The rumor is The Phantom Pain will be out in 2015, and GZ later this year. I seriously doubt both of those dates. I see the full game coming out late 2014

Yeah, these games are definitely not ready for release. GZ might be released in Summer, right around the time for another Koji-Shinkawa world tour.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I really want to play this game but I find myself not really caring when it comes out the new trailor didn't do it for me.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Each trailer is trying way too hard to try and pull you in and tries to make you believe it's "epic."

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I definitely don't have that "epic" vibe from a game announcement ever since MGS2, MGS1 was indeed epic but it was unexpected, MGS4 wasn't really that epic either.

I don't think epic is a good way to describe this franchise, not cause it's not great, but the adjective just doesn't fit.

Plus the word "epic" has lost all meaning with this internet generation :lol

Totally. Seems like it's more of a showboat of New Gen capabilities than showcasing the game/series itself. Had this been a pure PS3 release, it wouldn't have all the glitz and glamor ...cough...cough... Stingy-ness.

:exactly: They have been showing off the engine more than anything. We haven’t seen an actual in game mission yet.

I never played MGO that much, but common man, this was before SOP, and way before the Patriots AI system came online :lol. It seems like they're screwing up the tech in the timeline again.

Seems like all the additional tools and tech were necessitated by the open world philosophy that came as a result of trying to demo the FOX engine. In short, I think the tagging and the Detective Mode were put in to compensate the instability of MGS being open world, which is something that from what we've seen, doesn't come off organic to the gameplay mechanics.

Yeah, I keep praying for an explanation to make it non-tech related.
