Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I spent 15 minutes typing a reply and not noticing 2 pages later Skynet took over and it's now Judgement Day! :lol

I remember when Metal Gear Rising was coming out, a lot of people were complaining that the game won’t be good because Frank Jaeger wasn’t in it, I might be in the minority but I like Rising a lot.

You got that wrong. People were complaining because it was set after MGS4. I hated the idea of it at first and then I saw what Platinum did with it and figured it was just going to be an OK game but I was pleasantly surprised with it. The story is so ridiculous that it's got to be non canon.

MGSV isn't going to be the same scenario for a lot of us since Kojima is control of it. I can't have any more faith in the man anymore. I used to think it was Konami forcing his hand with most of his choices but in reality I think it's all him.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Does anyone remember The Sons of Big Boss website? If you happen to remember it, I ran it for a few years :lol gave up on it since I lost interest in it because it was too time consuming and mainly due to MGS4.

It's like this thread has a case of herpes that keeps showing up. And I'm not directing that to any members. Just the way conversations tend to devolve out of the blue.

That takes me back. I went there a few times and never went back again :rotfl.

I don't even know the URL to it anymore :lol I do however remember the message board URL. Place has been dead for a while but I did have a good community back then.

It's too much of a hassle to run a site.

There was a good amount who want Grey Fox but you’re right, most of the hate came once, we found out it was taking place after MGS4.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well it was originally non canon but now I think it is canon apparently. I'm just glad they left Snake's fate unanswered.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'd like to think that Rising is a parody of MGS :lol. I just got my LE today from Amazon this morning. Will open it when I get home.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I hope they do a sequel with the original story. I would love to see Solidus back in action. And the gameplay would be much better on the fox engine

What do you mean original story? You mean the interquel between MGS2-MGS4?

There were two original pitch for Rising, one that you mentioned and the other was starring Gray Fox.

BTW Plis I think I'm trying to go for the platinum trophy for Rising. Seems tempting :yess:

Good luck man. VR 18 made me contemplate throwing my PS3 out my 2nd story window :lol

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Pshhh... Rising is easy. I will platinum it when I get home from work, and make it in time for dinner.

Aww crap. Barely touched the VR missions and I failed at a lot of them, let alone getting 1st place. How bad is it compared to MGS2? If you've never finished MGS2's VR, consider yourself blessed. :lol
