Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Didn't Kojima or someone said that GZ will be out first & TPP later?
If it's a dlc, imagine how large the file would be.....

Seeing no one has posted this (but should have seen it), so here goes

The weapon slot interface reminds me of portable ops & the jumping animation looks funny

I didn't know that we could pull enemy down in PW, lol.

This has been posted.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

o plz no DLC ..

most MGS games had a "prequel" Chapter..

MGS 2 had the Tanker Mission.. MGS 3 had the Virtuous Mission.. and MGS V got the Ground Zeroes mission .

Yup, and from the menu they showed off at tgs it really looks to be 1 whole game.

How is 2 out of 7 games most? (Metal gear, Metal gear 2, Metal gear Solid, Metal gear Solid 4 & Rising all didnt)

but i would maybe say its 3/7 if you count Risings first mission.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

A mission selection menu from the mother base sounds really good.

Also, I wouldn't have a problem with marking if it didn't keep the exact position of the enemies at all times, maybe just put a mark on the map where you last saw that particular enemy.

It bugs me these games are no longer built on one mission and are divided into different missions.

I miss trying to infiltrate one particular base. Its a great formula thats been missing since MGS3

Exactly. Which is why I've grown to appreciate MGS 2 a lot more. Tactical Espionage Action has been missing for the longest time. Some may argue that Kojima's advancing the MGS by making it open world. But, to me, it looks like he's forgetting the series roots that made these games so great in the first place. MGS doesn't have to become like every other game out there to still remain relevant.

I love MGS3, but I like MGS1 and MGS2 more for the fact it was more rewarding staying hidden since you didn't have a bush every five feet to hide under.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The jungle made things too easy. It wasn't a matter of outsmarting your enemies anymore, but just wearing the right camo and hiding in plain sight.

I just like the urban environments more. You had to be quick on your feet and able to hide in plain sight. You had to monitor guard patrols and make your move fast. MGS3 you could just crawl off the beaten path and avoid just about everybody with relative ease. MGS3 was a good idea to shake up the traditional but I would like to see it get back to basics.

Being in the outdoors makes it WAY too easy anymore. I think being INSIDE buildings in MGS3 makes up for 2% of the game.

The Groznyj Grad Fortress was a great section. One thing they do well in MGS3 is stripping you of all of your supplies and making you feel vulnerable.

I never really felt vulnerable in MGS3 since you always had backup weapons to the backup weapons. Even worse in MGS4.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Not even when attempting to sneak out of the base after the interrogation with just a fork?

Maybe a little, if you're sneaking that is. But even on Extreme you can outrun the goons with taking only a little damage.
