Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yup, its already one of my favorite vocal songs in the Metal Gear series. I was underwhelmed by Peace Walker’s music. With Harry Gregson-Williams back I’m sure it will be great.

Harry Gregson-Williams only does the cutscenes.

Yup, pretty much the themes of each game as well. I liked what he did with Guns of the Patriots but it was a bit on the depressing side. But MGS2 intro is still the best in my opinion. Probably the most memorable song in all of gaming.

The real unsung hero of MGS is Norihiko Hibino. He did all the in-game music of Ghost Babel, MGS2, 3, and wrote the Snake Eater song. He later contributed a few tracks to Portable Ops and only one track in MGS4. He's pretty much done with MGS when I asked him. One of the nicest individuals you could meet in person.

I remember when you told me that people were handing him their Peace Walker figures to sign :slap

MGS 2 and 3 had some of the best in-game music of the series, and I absolutely love the Snake Eater theme song.

Yeah, that's beyond bizarre. Also, mostly people were handing him copies of MGS4 to sign and I saw a good number of people even asked him to sign the disc. Poor guy. :lol

I'm kinda grateful that I had the stones to go charging straight to the organizers demanding that I wanna meet him, because he wasn't supposed to meet the fans.

Personally I think MGS started to loose it's flavor the moment he left which so happens about the same time as that nasty plagiarism issue.

Do you own the soundtracks, Solidus? And do you have that awesome First Bite CD?

That's awful. You'd be surprised about how many people carry copies of MG (NES) for Kojima to sign, especially considering that he referred to that game as "pure garbage" :lol.

But man, that's some awesome work meeting Hibino like that. They must have been impressed by your determination.

I really like the theme from Tappy, and I still recognize it as being the iconic theme of the series. Also, I do have the First Bite CD. Unfortunately, it's the only soundtrack from MGS that I own :(.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So does Big Boss's voice actor. Although, to some people, he's a "breath of fresh air".

Kief still doesn't sound as bad as Skull Face, though.

Poor Miller was the only person who could deliver a line in that whole trailer.

I've noticed that, too. The voice direction in this game is certainly lacking - at least from what we've already heard so far.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Interesting. Wonder whats going on then.

I have this crazy, crazy theory. It seems none of the U.S VAs for the game said anything about their involvement in MGSV, we only found out about reprising their roles after watching the English intro. While they're clearly under NDA, the only person to come forward with the David Hayter issue is Quinton Flynn, and we all know he's probably not doing MGSV.

Don't you find it funny that none of the VAs stood up for Hayter? I have this suspicion that we're playing as another clone or an impersonator. He'd better be, considering that ponytail.

I have been thinking that as well. No easier way to reboot the series than an entirely new clone. I still feel like there is at least one more big ruse waiting for us, but I also find this annoying. Maybe Skull Face is Big Boss.:panic:

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

another clone???? :horror i sure hope not. thatll start a newb paradox unlike anything weve ever seen!:gah:

Why not? We're already on the verge of a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum. :lol
