Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

A cloth costume for Cyborg Ninja would work for me, but I'd have to see it done to make a final call. I feel like if a Cyborg Ninja was going to happen, I would just have to buy a head sculpt and sculpt all of the suit myself on top of a regular body. It wouldn't be seamless but I would like that more personally than cloth.

I prefer MGS1 Snake, but I love MGS2 Snake too.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think Gray Fox would be a lot cheaper than the other two since it would basically be the body, head, bodysuit, sword, and custom feet and hands. Although it would be sweet to be able to switch the right arm out for the cannon, but I don't think that's realistic.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hot Toys are crazy for not doing MGS1 figures, Snake & Cyborg Ninja are the kind of thing they excel at. Yet they choose to do boring figures.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It kinda makes me happy that they went the MGS3 route at the line bombed. If they went MGS1 it would of been the highest selling VGM ever.

Yea cannon and opened face sculpt.

Yeah, it would have been huge. You think they would look at what happened with Play Arts Kai and go "woh, this would be huge". Nope, let's do MGS3, even though PW PAK figures never popped like MGS1 figures did. Then they decide to go with MGS4 and MGR or something. Nuts, just nuts.

I love the HT quality but I didn't understand why they choose him with that suit for the MGS3 line. Ill ask them next time I'm in HK D:<

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm one of the few around here that actually liked the Sneaking Suit in game, but as a figure they should of went with the Tiger Stripe.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I'm sure they have some wonderful excuses, and I imagine Kojima had an influence as well (though SQEX did it so who knows..).

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Shinkawa only advises on the designs, but Kojima has final say on everything that comes out probably.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I like the Sneaking Suit in MGS3, but not enough that it's my first choice from MGS3, let alone MGS as a whole. Especially since they didn't do an eyepatch-less head sculpt. It's like.. hey, this is MGS3, the game where Big Boss has two eyes. Come on!! Ugh.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Exactly, especially considering the VG series is known for doing variant releases. Start with the Tiger Stripe, then do the Sneaking Suit as a variant. Perfect, everyone's happier. Sometimes I feel like I will never get good figures from the games that made these franchises what they are today. MGS1, DMC1, RE1/RE2, so on and so forth. I hope MGSV performs in whatever way leads to Solid Snake returning in a new Metal Gear game. I'm glad to see the games leading up to my favorite era again.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

No excuse for not starting with this.

Yeah there is nothing wrong with the Sneaking Suit, but it should of come second like you said.

I'd DIE if they did Devil May Cry 3 :drool

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I would take whatever I can get from Devil May Cry, pre-"DMC". I would prefer Devil May Cry 1 Dante, but if it came down to 3 or 4 I would prefer 3. They're all cool though, which makes it tough.

I'm surprised Hot Toys didn't announce they were doing MGSV Snake instead of MGS4 figures.

No **** :lol they love jumping on new licenses instead of old. Which is why Crow was such a shock, not so much Robocop since the remake is around the corner.

I'm thrilled that DMC was a complete and utter failure. Anything to bring Capcom down makes me happy. Should of never been remade. DMC4 was bad, but still very playable and relate-able seeing how Dante was in it and still had that smart *** personality.

I'd give an arm for DMC3 Dante & Vergil.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Omg Dante and Vergil. Uuuunfff. I pretend DMC4 doesn't exist. Lala land

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

My thoughts exactly. I'm still unsure about The Crow figure. Kind feel like he's off, but he does look great. I would rather have a closed mouth expression, and he's pricey, but I might get him. It's the Crow after all.

Yup, down with the big C (and K), lol. I'm surprised Hot Toys never picked up DMC, it's so toyetic.

I like the designs from DMC4, I think Nero is pretty cool. Game.. so-so.
