Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I think it's too simple for them. I remember HT said in an interview they like to make figures that offer a challenge in designing which is why they went for the Sneaking suit version.

I'm just getting very impatient with this series it's taking them too long to get to the characters we want!
Maybe MGS1 figures will come for its 10th anniversary in 2018 :S

And yet here we are with a undersized body and an incorrect headsculpt.

This thread sucks... :(

Porque the sad face amigo?

Kohima prefers BB because he has more humanity? :/

Pssshhh. The way I see it so far, feels like Big Boss went through enough as it is, and Koji just stabs BB with a knife and keeps twisting the knife in the wound.

Then I think of Solid Snake, this BAMF just sitting there , maybe buttering toasts or something with a hunting knife, and it probably looks cool as this

20th Anniversary. 😉

20th Anniversary. 😉

Oh **** that makes me feel old. Well in that case I want it sooner. But seriously how long can they wait to make theses figures. Mgs4 Raiden and I assume Snake are in the works. That'll take what 2-3 years, until the next series? Who know what that'll Be?? :monkey4

:exactly: definitely incorrect proportions with that thing.

I honestly don't get his obsession with Big Boss. The more he tries to make him this legendary character, the more he waters down the character. I honestly don't get the allure to him anymore by the fans. Sure I got it in MGS3, but god 3 games later of his prequels and he just seems like a cry baby who is forced to keep reliving the same game over and over :lol

From Portable Ops onward, it's the same game with a different title.

I think if InFlames didn't release their bootleg in 2011, then we might have seen a Jungle Fatigues figure from Hot Toys. But, I doubt that there will be more MGS 3 figs since Howard Chan mentioned the announcement for MGS 4 Raiden in his most recent interview.

I like the Sneaking suit ver :monkey1

I got the Metal Boss bdu, and I'm finishing a custom Eva so I couldn't care less if HT doesn't do other MGS3 figures, I hope they do before starting with MGS4

Thats exactly what I think :lecture

I think there could be more figures, but HT isn more unpredictable now that ever.. who knows

It doesn't bother me that much if there aren't anymore MGS3 Snake figs, we can always commission a custom BDU or something. I'd hate to see HT pull another Evil Supes and basically release the same figure with a different paint job. On to the new stuff.

MGS4 and Rising are probably the best candidates and that being said, I shudder to think if they revisit MGS1 and 2, it'll probably be a BB head on a SS body.

It seems really difficult for Kojima to just stick to one frikkin' look for Solid Snake. :slap

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Good points, Ryan. Man, I hate that MGS 2 render from Super Smash Bros :slap. But, I don't believe that Hot Toys has a say in the matter of character likeness. It's up to Kojima and Shinkawa to approve the source material - and boy have they been approving some strange-looking things.

Hopefully, we can count on IDM to deliver the Snake figure that we want... or rather, the Snake figure we deserve.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I mean the art for MGS1 Solid Snake. The Legacy art for MGS2 Solid Snake does look off, but it's not bad.

Oh. Well, all of the artwork from the Legacy Collection was practically regurgitated from other sources. The art for MGS 1 Snake actually was taken from the "MGS Social Ops" game in Japan. Personally, Snake gives me too much of a "Van Damme" vibe in the art :lol.

I like the legacy art too. Did they ever make an art book fro Rising? I really liked what I saw.

There was a small mini art-book from GameStop as a preorder bonus. And if I recall correctly, one of the "Art of Yoji Shinkawa" brochures featured some art from Rising.

But, a thick, retail art-book still has yet to be released.
