Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

MGS was dead since PW so just glad they nailed it with 2in1 BB game and no-Hayter.

Back to basics, happy campers! Nostalgia forever :3

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Hayter is both Solid and Naked Snake's voice actor.

Yes I know, But I guess what I meant was Hayter always did Solid's Voice as opposed to Big Boss has had other people voice him already (Doyle?). So Hayter to me is Solid Snake, and not so much Big Boss.

Also with all the Snake brothers having a different voice, its no so strange to me that Big Boss also has a different voice then Solid Snake.

So Im fine with Hayter not voicing Big Boss, but I sure hope they dont replace him if Solid Snake makes a return.

PW is definitely the worst of the franchise in terms of story, it served absolutely no purpose at all.

Now two more games, for what?

Ageed.

Portable Ops is far better imo. I actually really enjoyed it and then Kojima said it wasn't even cannon wtf :monkey1

MPO actually advanced the story and it's ending was plenty for setting up where Outer Heaven came from. PW is stagnant and has no baring on anything really.

And the flying talking trashcans were the dumbest invention in the entire series.

I just got my message back from anime Island just to show you guys what is going on who ordered from them

"The ones listed for 400 are on hold not for sale hence why they are 3 times (now I raised them to $10K so there is no confusion) the price of everybody else’s price. Square Enix cut all the dealers/distributors numbers (why all these people are selling him for $150-200USD) and so the ones we had sent to Amazon as extras are not for sale as they cut us short on the first shipment and we need those for pre-orders. We are going thru and shipping out the ones in stock to everyone in the order they placed their pre-order. I believe your order is early enough in the list and will be shipping out in the next few days."

Sorry guys I realized I'd posted in the wrong thread my bad but it also shows people why Raiden is so expensive right now

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It serves the purpose of entertaining and engaging, it gives you a motivation to beat the game and also to make the overall story arc a little deeper and more interesting, under your mindset, no story serves any purpose if it doesn't fit your very particular taste, PO did not set up the scenario for Outer Heaven, PW did or at least gave us a full idea of the possibilities and I appreciate that, explaining the ramifications of the consequences that the existence of Outer heaven could bear, It's not like you can skip the creation of outer heaven itself if you're already telling that story, if anything, it was PO the one that felt a little stagnant, but I still loved it.

I agree that PW's story did advance MGS story by showing Big Boss' mindset and how he made up his mind to have no allegiance to any government. Could it have been executed it better? Sure, but it was still good. To me MGS2 had the worst story in the whole series and didn't advance the story in anyway, except introducing Raiden (hate his character), and the intro and death of Solidus.

Yeah I mean it did set up the series main villain and it became the basis for the rest of the games, you're absolutely right.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Nah, the main "villain" for me is Liquid, but I think most people consider Zero to be the main villain....

Thought about it too, but it's been floating around the internet for a week at this point.

Either way, I still hate MGS5.

Oh cool. So that means you won't be purchasing it, therefore no longer feel the need to express your disdain for the series' change in direction.

Right?

Oh mate, everybody can express whatever they want, if he buys it or not after everything he's said that's a different matter, but everybody can say what they want here, that's what these boards are for, you can choose whether to ignore it or not though.

Dude. We got enough trolls in this thread already, we don't need another one.
