Well got to say if its just a digital release i’m not playing it.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Holy crap, if us English speaking gamers desperately want a retail edition of Ground Zeores, we'll have to sign a petition for it, ENCOURAGED BY Konami.

Basically they're saying: You want a disc? Do ya? Well beg for it mother f$%*ers! :slap

That's just lame. I guess we might as well sign the petition and see where this goes :slap. Or, actually, do I even care? I can't say I'm all that excited for Ground Zeroes or MGS V, to be honest.

I dunno.. for some reason I can't be bothered to kneel down to Konami for something that instinctively should have been given to the consumers in the first place. MGS is a cash cow. Konami knows there are plenty of fans who would gladly pay up for whatever they toss so perhaps the reason they're asking for a petition is for market research.

It's funny how Konami is all over the business related market surveying but the David Hayter petition was swept under a rug.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Well replacing Hayter was obviously something Kojima was Hard pressed in doing. Also they'd already struck a deal with Keifer way before the announcement was made.

In the disc, I really don't care. It doesn't matter since the whole thing is gonna get released together when it's ready anyway!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Whatever the deal was with Sutherland, whether it was at Konami or Kojima's urging... it was for star appeal and not development of the character. Too little too late to decide to swap actors. Should of been someone else from the very beginning if that was the case.

Well, in all honesty I don't think Kojima even remembers his name.

Indeed. It's obvious MGSV needs to make money, and the cost of making this game has to be unbelievable. Maybe casting Keif could bring in that extra revenue.

Yep. Fox Engine definitely wasn't cheap, and with facial motion capture and photo capturing they did with Quiet it probably ran a boat load.

Kiefer's practically a niche actor :lol. His career was on dry spell after 24 ended, and I think Kojima has seriously overestimated the impact of his "star appeal".

And yeah, Kojima is a ******* tool. It's strange how he's so oblivious about matters concerning his Western audience, when his games are focused on Western characters :lol.

Wannabe Tom Clancy, just like Agnes said.

That's a good point. The deal with Kiefer had to be in the works for some time. It's so awful that Kief was (most likely) already doing the voice recordings, while David Hayter was left unaware, and waiting in anticipation for a call from Konami to begin work.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Is star power really a draw in games? I've never seen any evidence in this. Infact the only thing I've only ever seen to make a difference is fun factor
