Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I really liked the Sneaking Suit. I could barely pose it but it looked a treat

and also

Metal-Gear-Solid-Ground-Zeroes-younger-Snake.jpeg

Is probably my favorite MG design. So id love to have it.

A lot of people prefer the BDU look but I for one always like the Sneaking Suit design of MGS3 but I never understood how it can have the term "Sneaking" in it and it has bright ORANGE in portions of it.

I like the suit from PW and it seems more feasible for Sneaking since it's more streamlined like the MGS1 suit.

Mine too, well my fav fav is the one in MGS1, but this one is definitely in the top 3, the Jungle Fatigues from PW too, I'm actually thinking of buying the BB with sneaking suit by Play arts, or maybe the one by Revoltech but the face is way off in Revoltech's...

Well the Sneaking Suit from MGS1 is the first one ever to even have that name and will be my favorite as well, although I like the look of the MGS2 version even though it's just the reused wetsuit from the previous one. The MGS2 outfit is basically the same set up as the PW aside from color and designs on the skin of it.

I might be in minority here, but my favourite look of Snake, was always the Iroquois Plisskin one. Not only becouse he rocked that Seal Team 6 suit, but also couse I strongly believe that MGS 2 whole "looking at Snake from Raiden's perspective", only served to make Snake look more badass.

Hot Toys Iroqouis Pliskin with a proper in-game-model headsculpt (rather than the Che Guevara lookalike) is my personal dream.

Well said. I still remember hearing his voice before his balaclava was removed and I'm like "Is that Snake?" :lol

It was just such a badass look for him and it was a homage to the Outer Heaven version of Snake. MGS2 is so under-appreciated for what it did to Snake's coolness factory.

I think enough has been said about the whole argument here. Both parties has agreed to drop the matter so it's just water under the bridge now (until the next one lol) so let's all get back to the game. I'm actually really excited for this game cause I want to know how BB lose his hand, if he found out about the cloning, and if he meets Solid.

Weird thing is. Liquid Snake said (I know this can be completely retconned at this point) that Big Boss was in a coma when he was cloned. Peacewalker is set in 1974 and the twin Snakes were born in 1972. Can they be pushing the date of their birth into GZ/TPP since he's in a coma in that? I don't remember specifically in PW they ever mentioned the clones and MPO was set before that and they were just mentioned in the foretelling of the future. I can't see them making him a vegetable twice in the same decade :dunno

"Two Phantoms were born." I think these games has a lot to do with Zero enacting the insurance policy of cloning Big Boss since he's gone off the rails with the Patriots and refuses to be loyal to them.

I wish this week would pass more quickly, I've been April Fooled a handful of times and I want David Hayter's letter to to be actual hard facts before I start accepting the harsh reality.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I don't think they're pushing the birth date, I remember by the time of the PW release, Kojima said that les enfants terrible had 2 years of being born, he was acknowledging the fact that the twin snakes were already alive by then....

The worst for me so far has been Peter Dinklage being "out" of Game of thrones, ****er almost gave me a heart attack.

You and me both, but I don't think Hayter would do that to fans. I just can't believe they gave him the boot in such a disrespectful matter. He's only the top tier of gaming voice actors :pfft:

It just seems silly to have him in a coma and cloned... and then a few years later in a coma... that spans 9 years? And then in another coma that spanned 14 years? :slap The man has missed over 20 years of his life.

Apologies for the ****ty image, I don't posses any PS skills, but it gets the job done lol.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I genuinely hope GZ/TPP brings us up to the events of Outer Heaven, it's the best step the franchise can take imo, finish the Big Boss Saga and follow up with the MSX remakes. I'm actually past the point of hoping for another game to stay true to the originals. I wouldn't mind if after the above mentioned, he gave the series a rest...

As much as i'm sick of BB, one thing i do like about GZ/TPP is there's obviously been a lot more thought process gone into some sort of story, from the trailer, what intrigues me most is who the characters possibly are and what connection they have or have had in previous games

It'll either be a really nice surprise or another gimmick to try and work known characters from other instalments into the story in an attempt to make it more interesting

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Maybe he's using GZ/TPP to try and correct some of the major plot holes and time paradoxes hes caused and that's why it's sort of a retcon

I can't imagine it being an easy trying to make a story that flows after butchering the timeline the way he has

As much as I don't want another Big Boss game. I will buy this since I've invested way too much of my life in the franchise to just turn it away. I honestly can't see them extending this overly extended Big Boss arc and further than this game since he looks like a middle aged man in TPP.

Outer Heaven will make everyone happy. Big Boss isn't the main in it, but he's still in it and Snake will be in it as a rookie to Foxhound and he will actually be given some character development that we can relate to.

The main butchering I would say is the technology in the 1970's seems like it's WAY ahead of some of thing things in MGS1 and even MGS2.

ZEKE and Peace Walker don't make any sense existing when they do and seem almost most capable than future Metal Gears.

If we get MSX remakes, TX 55 and D need to be heavily retconned to compensate.

Me too man, I am hoping on the inside that it is great because all i actually want is a really good, complete MGS game akin to it's predecessors. If it has to be BB then so be it, i'd prefer Solid but i'm cool with it.

The main reason i have so much rested in the MSX remakes is because i know the story is good. If they just re-make the game with a few retconned bits to make it feasible. Then it's going to obviously be great and like you said will make everyone happy

That's my only problem with GZ/TTP. There still a chance, no matter how good it looks that it's going to suck

For the MSX hopefully nothing gets retconned to the point of it doing a 180 and it ending up being a total farce and rubbish :slap

:pow

The story just needs to be cleaned up and the story telling needs to be heavily rewritten since those two games are so ancient at this point. As long as they keep the general story of it and characters I won't be bothered with it at all.

GZ/TPP just feels like beating a dead horse at this point. You want Big Boss sequels? Fine, sure go ahead. But MPO and PW didn't really push Big Boss over the hill to becoming the "Villain."

I understand those two games, plus Snake Eater were created to change his mentality towards hatred and disgust for the US and the Patriots but it didn't need to be spread out over 2 now 4 games at this point.

It should of just been a combination of MPO and PW in one game and then spill over into this title or titles.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

on MGSV's wikipedia page, there's a section of Kojima's interviews. He said V will be the last MGS he makes and he's done with the series after that. I know he's said this after every MGS almost, but if this is true, that means no more games featuring Solid, which will be a total shame. V looks to be the final chapter for BB since it's basically him right up to or close to MG1. I really was hoping Solid can step back into the spotlight after this...

Ughh he's doing that again? I don't believe this in the least. He wanted out over 10 years ago, he doesn't have the power to do so as far as I see.

He's stated numerous times he isn't done with Solid Snake... but that could be him blowing smoke. You can never really gauge where he is going.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

that's why I'm kinda doubting it also but who knows. The man has made enough money to last 2 or 3 lifetimes, maybe he really is done.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It's safe to say, never trust anything Kojima says as fact :lol

Konami will never allow him to do it, I mean he has Koji Pro but isn't that still under Konami?

He's doing ZOE3 at least...
