Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I was so disappointed with PW (it just screamed japanese cheesiness) that I'm sure I'll be pleased with Ground Zeroes and MGSV

The fact that they are very serious in their tone is also quite reassuring.

I get that. The thing that bugged me was that there was just so many little nitch things that had to constantly remind you that it wasn't present day...

It had forgettable characters side from Big Boss and Kaz, and even Huey.

GZ/TPP might be one of the darkest toned game.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I never understood why BB no longer knows in PW what happened with the Boss when he was clearly told everything at the end of Snake Eater

:mwaha

Him becoming angered that the Boss put down her gun? It was based on loyalty, she made it quite clear what her "will" was so why did it turn into such a huge conflict in the future. And why does Zero care what she thinks? He didn't have the same relationship that Big Boss did.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The story is soo convoluted, because of Kojima and he's retconned and added and changed things its a wonder he doesn't hire someone just to remember the story. lol

:lol

We take it for granted since we have the story burned into our brains but I don't think he takes it as seriously as the fans. To him it's creation but most of all it's a product he develops for money.

I don't think he holds the series as close to his heart as he did with MGS1 and MGS2.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

yeah he probably resents its success but he gladly takes the checks. Too bad he isn't doing Metal Gear Solid on ps4 with hayters voice and in glorious HD. I'm tired of the whole Big Boss thing but I know I'll buy MGS5 lol :(

I know how you feel believe me. Big Boss is fine, but you need to change up the rotation.

He might of gotten the boot for playing Big Boss based on Kojima trying to really make him a separate entity to Solid Snake.

We may get to hear Hayter in Shadow Moses again since Koji Pro mentioned well over a year ago that they are considering a 2nd remake to MGS. Nothing has been said since but I'm still holding onto hope :rock

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

! I hope Kojima one day remakes MGS

"If we were going to do Metal Gear Solid 1 we’d want to take more time with it. Not just up-res the textures, not just make things look pretty and polished, but go back and tweak some of the gameplay, tweak the story to update things and do it properly. Not just a re-master but a re-imagining almost."

I can't believe it's been actually 2 years since this was talked about.

Imagine if the MGS re-make came out on the FOX engine

For all we know it's already been started and being create side by side with GZ/TPP.

Remember the Twin Snakes came out of nowhere when Snake Eater was announced before it?

I genuinely got excited for a brief moment haha.

Maybe they want to remove the tumor in people's memories of the Twin Snakes. Silicon Knights royally ****ed that game up. Ryuhei Kitamura's cutscenes were so over the top and not needed.

Tweak ANYTHING but story, *********! :gah:

Both very valid comments.

No need to tweak the story, they'd probably end up changing Otacon as the designer of REX. They should just re-make the exact same story it's fine the way it is

The only thing Twin Snakes did for me was give me an idea of what MGS could have looked like with slightly better graphics. That's about it

Exactly. If it's not going to be executed properly, why bother.

I love Kojima for creating MGS but really dispise the direction that he's taken so far with the games. If a remake for MGS 1 does eventually happen (and I shudder to think about it), they better have David Hayter back as the voice actor of Snake!

He will need to take another cut in pay since they apparently don't give a **** enough to give funding to make a quality product. :slap

Greg Eagles needs to do Gray Fox in this remake! Rob Paulsen wasn't that good in TTS.
