That's an interesting find, although it would be a coincidence, I mean how much do writers have to do with wardrobe and the costume department?

If it's not a coincidence, then that's pretty cool, there's certainly a resemblance.

I just figured it was like an easter egg, directors throw that in all the time, it also doesn’t hurt that Hayter and Singer are friends. Similar to Kojima throwing in Jack Baurer phrases in MGS GZ. Nice find on that pic by the way.

It does bear a slight resemblance, but I think it's purely coincidental. High-collared tactical vests seem pretty standard (although, it's a different story in one-sixth scale).

Seems like almost the same thing to me, I wish there was a video I can find, strange that this is one of the best scenes in the X-films and I can’t find a clip of it on youtube. The vest seems slightly different, but everything else seems to be exactly the same, even the elbow pads, also most of the soldiers were wearing night vision goggles. I could be wrong, but just seems crazy this suit makes an appearance in a movie Hayter Co-wrote the script to.

Woah, now I can see it! That's awesome. Good find, turtle-man :lol :clap

The thing is, I don't really know if I can trust Shinkawa/Hot Toys to make a decent Solid Snake figure - after PAK treated us to that awful, thunder-thigh PAK Solid Snake with skinny biceps. Although, MGS has really been lacking in decent 1/6 treatment.

I actually like the Revoltech’s Solid Snake more than I thought I would, I have it on preorder. Solid Snake memorabilia is a rare thing to find these days.

Practically anything relating to MGS 1 has been getting rare and expensive. It's ludicrous, what people are asking for PAK Snake and Gray Fox on Ebay. I wouldn't even spend $100 for any of them.

Hot Toys are so darn expensive and, for me, crazy to spend that kind of money, but I want a good Solid Snake figure. That's the only Hot toys I would get, and then I'll probably get tempted to get Liquid. Although, I love all four looks for Solid Snake, so that makes it tough! I wish the PAK Solid Snake was cheaper.

The micro Snake? That one is awesome, I love tiny figures, and that one is extremely detailed for that scale, I'm gonna get 2 before the after market tries to rape me, cause surely that figure will increase it's price.

Btw, that video is awesome, that's the reason I think Jackman can actually do a decent Wolverine from time to time, but haven't seen that in 3 movies :lol

And the vests are reaaaally Snake... the shoulders and the neck are almost too similar.

I recall that scene in X-2 even when I first saw it and I did notice the resemblance. Watching it on blu-ray few year ago, I could point out minor details. I'm no expert on military gear but I'd reckon it's a coincidence.

Btw I was catching up with "Castle" last night and was surprised to see Lori Alan played the mother of a kid with telekinetic powers. :rotfl

I agree with you on that, he hasn’t been better since X2. That was probably the only time you kind of see the animal come out of him.

I find Kojima's tweets interesting:

Saw "Walking Dead" S4 #6-8. Generally speaking, series tends to kill characters that viewers get tired of, to stimulate the story. (cont)

In viewer-oriented TV series, the story goes differently from the original. This time,w clever misleading,u think he's dead & feel empathy.

It's a bit worrying that Kojima seems to be taking inspirations by mentioning the things he's interested in. While he never compared TWD to MGS, he did likened MGSV to Breaking Bad. While I've never watched both of these shows and please correct me if I'm wrong, but such statements of fascination doesn't seem to come from someone who comes off as great write but rather as if someone trying to rip off whatever that is a current hit with the public.

Well Big Boss going from hero to villain was the plan long before Breaking Bad ever existed, I think he might be inspired how it happened, and the way the writers handled it, but I don't think he's ripping off anything. Otherwise Tarantino is nothing but a thief, and deserves no credit for most of his films.

As long as Kojima molds all these "inspirations" into something original, then he deserves nothing but credit. If he blatantly starts ripping off these shows though, then that would be another story.
