Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Absolutely. Of all the critiques I have on the game, I've always thought the COOP was stellar.

Yeah, I hate the storyline in relation to the rest of the series. But, all things considered, its still a good game. I'll probably have the same opinion about TPP and GZ.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

It was definitely one the most ambitious projects attempted by KojiPro, and the massive amount of content is proof enough. The Kaz scenes were creepy as hell, too. Did you ever try lying down on Kaz after knocking him unconscious? The codec replies are hilarious :rotfl

Haha I know! I tried everything, a fair share I discovered it myself, the rest I saw it on youtube and then tried it...

Like going inside the box with Kaz lol

If that's not bromance I don't know what is :dunno

Big Boss likes young teenage girls, and getting sexy with muscular men in speedos. He is the ultimate creeper :panic:

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

So that's what Snake Eater meant. Gross.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

You're not kidding man. I always felt kind of silly explaining MGS to non-fans, with name's like Solid Snake, Naked Snake, etc.

Naked Snake is definitely the worst Snake codename, especially when you don't even know anything about MGS.

Solidus Snake seems to be the only one that doesn't really have a double meaning.

Haha for sure. I picture a Reservoir Dogs-type scene when they are getting their code names.

"Why do I have to be Naked Snake?" lol

I explained the codename "Naked Snake" to a coworker only after I explained the Boss and her Cobra Unit first, as well as the symbolic meaning of his codename coupled with "Operation Snake Eater." Doesn't sound so silly afterwards :lol

Naked Snake > Snake Eater, I feel so dumb for not making the connection until now :slap :lol

Haha excellent. My girlfriend made the mistake of asking what the difference between the Snakes. I started to explain, realized how complicated/ridiculous it sounded and was like...nevermind. Lol.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Snake Eater is a nickname for Rangers/SF in the US Army. Not sure if that's where they got that from, I'd think so since eating snakes and other critters is a part of SERE training. That's always what I assumed they were referencing.

And I get that Naked Snake references the "OSP" nature of the sneaking missions, but still....

:lol

He's a "Naked Snake" because he doesn't carry an emotion into battle like his fellow Cobras. "Snake Eater" referring to the Naked Snake "devouring" his "superior" Cobras.

That's right. Either way, it's fitting in that regard as well as in its symbolism towards eradicating the Cobra unit.

Exactly right. Boss says when she encounters him on the bridge that "He has yet to find a emotion to bring into battle" or something to that degree.
