Millions on the FOX engine, and it's going to be compared to every Sandbox game in recent memory :lol. Especially GTA V. I truly wonder if there's anything going on in that massive map aside from the scale.

That's truly the million dollar question, hence why I can't wait to actually see the 30 minute gameplay demonstration instead of reading about it.

Just when is that video is coming out, anyway? Anybody?

No idea. I keep checking YouTube, but there isn't anything. In this day and age, you'd think that people would have thought of pulling out their smartphones and taking a video clip of it :slap.

I was watching the awesome MGS3 trailer. Man, have times changed. :lol

Wow I miss those trailers, I remember the very first Snake Eater trailer. So many thought it was fan made originally :lol

I think at Comic Con or something back then, I remember a story about some guy stole demos of MGS3 out of a truck or something :lol

Which reminds me, the only thing I've ever stolen from a store was the demo disc of MGS3 out of a plastic wrapped magazine.

I'm really going to be surprised if this isn't a completely dead map for the most part. As big as GTA V is, it's a pretty meh map even within the city. It's going to have scale, but nothing stimulating occupying the majority of it. Unless there are many enemy encampments and they aren't just copy and pasted from other sections of the map.

No, that's a true story. Someone cracked open a Konami booth and took the playable demo disc at E32k4.

Anyway, the MGS3 E3 2K3 trailer is one of my favorite trailers ever up there with the MGS2 E32000 trailer.

Gotcha, it's been so long I've forgotten the details on that story. I still think, the MGS3 trailers were the best trailers to be done for the series. I was never more excited to finally get it.

Although the Twin Snakes 20 minute or so trailer was making me drool... shame the game wasn't even 10% as good as the trailer.

Oh yeah, the TTS 30 minute trailer was awesome, so much so i made a video about it in 2009. Actually if it wasn't for this video, I wouldn't be friends with the MGR musicians that got them the gig and the OST would have been different. The lord works in mysterious ways, they say.

Ryuhei Kitamura's cutscenes messed up that game, although some of them were neat and they did fit the game to a degree. But personally, the most glaring problem was the lack of emotion in the acting, especially from Jennifer Hale. She sounds like she's on a strong sedative most of the game compared to the brilliant work she did in the original.

And the lack of the classic music was bad, most of the music in it was this weird ambiance crap and most of it wasn't even close to being reminiscent of the Tappy tracks.

You should stay away from the new season entirely. It contains some spoilers about specific characters that are best left as a secret, if you haven't seen 24 already.

But, you should DEFINITELY start with Season 1 first :lol. It opens up the tone, for the tragedy that befalls Bauer's life, and the ending is guaranteed to shock you.

What this man says.

By far, the worst day in Jack's life.

Is it wrong for me to find Nina hella hot?

Btw, in case you didn't know- it was Kojima who insisted that the cutscenes and presentation to be different. Kitamura was dead set on staying close to the original shot-by-shot, but he was asked to redo everything when he showed his "faithful" cut to Kojima. Not sure what to make of that though. :lol

I had no idea that was his choice, I take by what I said about Kitamura. I guess this must of been the advent of Kojima's true weirdness with his creative choices. But as I said, there is much more wrong with that game that goes beyond the cutscenes. I don't mind some of them, and I enjoy them. But Snake trying to jump on REX and Snake yells out "KICK!!" I roll my eyes every time :lol

Yup, as much as he gets all the blame, it's really not Kitamura's fault. He wanted to make a true MGS game, didn't wanted to screw up his gaming debut and wanted to keep his trademark crazy bullet-time choreography to just his films, not games. Of course he didn't wanted to mess with the MGS fans.

Well, like I said before, the Lord works in mysterious ways, my friend. In this case, Kojima. :lol

So did Silicon Knights only produce it? Who actually directed it? I just looked at the composers for the game, the in game music is what really bothered me with that and I see one of the composers works for SK, so I'll blame it on him :lol

i guess the 1984 release date supposed to be a Hint? or just a lie?

i can only think it as 19th of August 2014.. but that's unlikely

I wouldn't read too much into it. People thought the way the MGS4 title logo was built that it had all 7's in it and it was to be releases on 7/7/2007 but it didn't come out until 2008.

Silicon Knights were given the MGS2 engine to work on, (just like how WB Montreal worked on Arkham Origins) while Kitamura directed all the cutscenes with the direct assistance and supervision of Konami. Kojima was the producer, hence everything was his call.

Silicon Knight's Steve Hennifin worked on the in-game music, which is odd considering Norikiho Hibino was doing the cutscene music, they should have left all the work to Hibino.

Of course, TTS existed because of a lunch Kojima had with Shigeru Miyamoto, who asked him to make an exclusive MGS game to Nintendo. I'm speculating here, but I'm pretty sure Kojima didn't wanted the remake to one up the original, hence why he forced Kitamura to make all those crazy stuff.

This isn't like the RE Remake, where Shinji Mikami returned himself.

Also, since we're in the MGSV boards and I just mentioned Hibino, I really wished the MGSV composer Ludvig Forssell gets booted out from MGSV. He comes out as a douche in the Kojima Station episodes but most importantly, his work on GZ was bad, like really bad. I've never heard such underwhelming music in a stealth game before, even GTAV had some awesome sneaking tracks!

It seems after Hibino left Konami, the music of MGS has gotten progressively worse. MGSV sets a whole new bar though.

That may be true back then that he still wanted the original on top, but this Kojima now doesn't come across as the same director that would concern himself with that. Shinji Mikami caught lightning in a bottle with the REmake, I can only image how we would feel if Kojima himself fully directed TTS. No matter how it turned out, I'm sure it would of been better then what we've actually gotten.

I wonder if the singing robots are coming back for MGS V. And since it's the 80s, they should sing in the voices of Michael Jackson, Little Richard, or Prince. You know, because "EmGeeEss is better wiff realizzzmmm!".
That wouldn't be the worst but still, those robots. Also does anyone know why PW got praised for its bossfights in reviews? :cuckoo: They were awful and repetitive to me.

The boss fights against the Peace Sentinels were remarkably dull to me. The fights against the armored vehicles/helicopters can be fun but the amount of damage they can sustain was insanely unrealistic.

And the fact there is no human boss fights was another nail in PW's coffin.

I just saw the interview of IGN's Greg Miller had with Kojima and OMG Greg, you really should learn a bit about humility. He's the FIRST person that I've seen to interview Kojima that tries to drag the attention of the interview to HIMSELF, and I've seen tonnes of interviews with Kojima in the past 15 years. Towards the end, poor Kojima had to just listen to how "great" you are and how many "fans" you have.

This was the same thing way back during the Uncharted 3/Arkham City uproar where people got mad when Uncharted 3 scored a perfect 10 while Arkham City got a 9, in which both games reviewed by Miller. His response to the uproar? He made a video of how many "fans" he has on camera, all cheering for him.

Greg, you have a serious case of an inferiority complex, you have a compulsion to prove how great you are that it get in the way of professional journalism. If this is the face and future of IGN, I want no part of it. :stake

Sincerest apologies to everyone for the rant btw. :offtopic::chillpill::cuckoo::panic:
