No way, everyone should adhere to my play-style, and Kojima should cater to my interests alone! I'm just kidding of course!

That's what's great about the series, because you can play how you want! Personally, I try to play non-lethally with no alerts, unless I get so absorbed into the story where I went all out shooting like in the end of MGS3 to defend Eva!

I'm with you pturtle, in that I want the story to be serious. I'm not worried about the gameplay taking me out of the experience, because it's optional, but I am "worried" about getting stuff like "They played us like a damn fiddle," and Johnny type scenes.

You can fulton bears? Is that a mutliplayer thing? I hope we can customize them. I'm going to make an army of Intensive Care Bears!

Well, I’m not sure about bears, but there will be deadly wild life animals that I’m assuming you can Fulton, I know Wolves were shown for sure, I’m guessing they can guard your base if you “recruit” them, I don’t think there will be bears though.

:rotfl

That would be nice, I know my Mother Base is gonna be a freak show

This is one of my issues with realism in the game. How can you Fulton screaming soldiers and crates without anyone else noticing. That would totally take me out of the game!

You can only call helicopters in special drop points but you can Fulton anywhere? That's dumb: and yes I'm fully aware this is MGS were talking about

:lecture

The fact is, that there are some things that worked well for Peace Walker that should not have been included in console a release. Since Peace Walker was a portable experience, I can understand practical need for something silly like the Fulton system - which allowed you to farm for soldiers on the fly (sort of like Pokemon), while playing though short missions on your lunch break.

But, since it's coming back for MGS TPP, I wonder why Big Boss couldn't have just Fulton'd Chico and Paz to safety in the first place...

Don't get me wrong, I still like the Fulton system, but it should be included in very limited amounts in MGS V.

I think it would make sense if you could only Fulton from certain distances or areas in order to avoid detection. As well as have limited fultons per mission

I hope there's more areas, or at least more interesting complexes. I find jungle/dessert quite boring from all the FPSs out there. MGS has always been about infiltrating bases IMO

I just want more environments for TPP. And like you said, infilitrating bases have always been something iconic to this series, and I'd also to see them returned in some way.

I'm actually a little surprised this game doesn't have a jungle as its main area, since most of Big Boss's games are jungle orientated now that I think about it. MGS 3, and PW anyway. but then again, being that it's still an outdoors op, it still fits with him.

I do want to see how jungles work in MGS V though, I think that given how things work in the main map, it could be interesting.

On another note, I just wonder if the outdoor map is too huge for its own good :lol. It'll defeat the purpose of stealth if you can just run huge arcs around enemies to get to your destination.

I quite like the "they played us like a damn fiddle" line.

There are many over-delivered and overly dramatic lines throughout the franchise.

Like when Otacon found out that Rex was equipped with nukes and he knelt down and punch the floor crying :lol soapy material right there.

This is the reason why there was no Fulton in GZ

The Fulton was absent from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, although it will return in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Hideo Kojima stated that the reason he didn't include it in Ground Zeroes is because he felt it wouldn't have made sense to use a fly-by recovery in a heavily fortified base.

And, if there was fulton included, the game would have been a lot shorter and way easier to complete :lol

Well, we have yet to see a Fulton recovery when there's actually someone around to see it.

Have we?

The only one I recall from a demo was fultoning a jeep, and turned out that a soldier was behind it and he definitely noticed, and was consequently put to sleep.

Other than that, nope.

So I assume using it in a fortified area should be much harder.

It's puzzling why BB was under-equipped considering it was what, a month after PW? As Jayne would say..

Another proof that GZ was nothing but a fundraiser.

Oh man, if they had this bundled with a game (ala ZOE) it would have been great, if they had shown some transition of the VA from Hayter to Sutherland that would been even better!

So far thing that kept me playing GZ was the personal belief that ain't BB, considering he was under equipped plus sounded and acted nothing like BB.

I think that's wishful thinking man.

If BB is replaced, I'm thinking it will happen after the destruction of mother base, when he's in a comma, I think GZ still has the real BB.

What do you mean by "acted nothing like BB"? I thought he was very Big Bossy, he showed care for chico and other than that, well, there wasn't much room to show character, it's a prologue, a tiny tiny portion of the story.

I can understand the hard time adjusting to Kiefer's voice though.

Pretty sure it is. :lol

As for not acting like BB, I'm not just referring to Keifer. I think his mannerisms are off in which he talks so little and is less opinionated than the BB we've come to know.

I also can't grasp how did BB waged his war against Zero in the 80's since as far as canon goes, he never drew attention to himself prior to the Outer Heaven incident in 1995. If he's the villain in TPP, how exactly did he earn his position as FOXHOUND commander in the 90's?

I've said this before, it would be a neat twist if it was a decoy appointed by BB to take his place while BB was in cohorts with Zero, secretly trying to destroy him and the Patriots. Something goes wrong in the story and the decoy is blamed, so a manhunt ensues to kill off the decoy and the decoy retaliates with "revenge".

Of course the real BB saves the day and earns the position of Foxhound commander. The opportunity to play as a decoy would serve the same purpose as playing a Raiden in MGS2- to see the protagonist from a different perspective. Maybe as the decoy, us players would indulge in atrocities and face their inner demons while unraveling a greater conspiracy. The player is fooled and provoked, reinforcing the themes Kojima seems to be preaching this time.

Anyway, just saying. Wishful thinking. :lol

Whooooah, if you said that before I missed it but that would be coooooool. :lol

:goodpost:

Maaan that sounds really cool, and there have been some other details, albeit minor that point some similitudes to MGS2.

I really need to play MGS2 again :gah:

That'd be interesting Ryan...though Kojima would have to throw in some crazy twists in there at some point :lol like maybe the real BB is the one we control in TPP, but in GZ, both the decoy AND real one got attacked possibly. idk, something like that could work. I still know Kojima is going to throw something crazy. Hopefully, it is not nanomachine madness :lecture

The Code Talker is the father of *** **** ???

I call bull****

The 9 year explanation also looks like pure crap
I admit, what happens to Diamond Dogs and XOF makes sense but its kind of lame...

I think its the same site that released the super fake/lame "MGSV script" :lol

Konami fired people before the game is gold? I will believe this guy if the game is released by the end of the year

Q) Has the opening hospital scene been changed since its first showing? Does it play out differently? Does the game immediately open up with Snake waking up? Are there QTEs in the cutscenes?
A) The camera is completely different. The one used in the trailers is meant to confuse the viewer.

Maybe because we're controlling Ismael?

Q) Will Big Boss work with Skullface? Who is venom snake? Release date for PC?
A) Venom Snake is Punished Snake. Some people will call him Venom and some people will call him Snake. He calls himself Punished. At the end there’s a twist there. But as I said, silence.

Maybe because that's not Big Boss?

Anyway, I'd love the final product to challenge my perceptions on how to keep a 27-year old franchise running, hope it's not convoluted nanomachines crap or all cut and dried.
