Steven Segal felt like a cheesier discount action hero even when i was a child, so im not that big a fan. He was great in Machete though

Not sure there is different endings. It seems that quiet is expendable to the plot

"These potential partners will come with their own side missions but their (potential) deaths will have no impact on the core plot—it's possible to not even find them or leave them out completely and finish the game without them."

I wonder if they get any emotional death cutscenes. That would be interesting.
Actually It would be weird If they didn't

I liked Fortunes, she's underrated. Had she been less melodramatic or had a better VA maybe others would have agreed

OldSnakes would have been the best had he actually gone through with it.

I predict feeling nothing for quiet

I liked fortune too, I also thought Emma's was one of the more emotional ones

Otacon gets shafted throughout the series, one way or another

Oh I forgot about Emma's, yeah that was one of the better ones. Fortune's unfortunately fell flat with me. I felt nothing for Ocelot's, which majorly sucks considering he's a staple of the franchise.

I didn't really feel much about fortunes death, I thought it was a good death but I didn't feel for it. I liked her character

Unlike most I didn't really feel for The Boss' death. I like the story I just never felt that side of it and she annoyed be a bit in the game.

Oh yeah Emma's was a good one, I really didn't like Otacons VA during those scenes. Your right frank fortunes was more satisfying than emotional.

And The Boss I felt nothing until the full reveal at the end. So it was more the graveyard scene that was emotional

Fortune just wasn't that interesting in the long run - Ocelot nailed it on the head when he described her as 'the tragic heroine' :lol her death sort of got me...but not like Emma, Emma really got to me. Ocelot...I'm not sure how to really take.

It was more because it was an unnecessary fight, at least story wise. You already won. And then your winning being devalued by another "i planned it all along", even though it made no sense.

It was just an unfitting end to the franchise and all the characters but that's a whole other long conversation.

Damn nobody cared about Big Boss’ and Eva’s death in MGS4? I never cry, but those two deaths put lump in my throat.

Eva's death was too nonsensical and BigBoss' was preluded by an overly long and also nonsensical dialogue that lasted forever. Not to mention that he had just showed up out of nowhere.
In short they were both stupid and useless deaths.

Emma was the only MGS character that wasn't overly sexualized. In fact, MGS2 had the only cast of "normal" women. The last of this dying breed would be Elisa from MPO.

Every other MGS has gratuitous close ups or that draws attention to themselves. It's funny for one or two times (especially in MGS3) but it gets old quick. Sometimes it's embarrassing to be a MGS fan, Kojima could learn a thing or two about depicting women from Naughty Dog. :lol
