Well, he only became cool after he was cyborg'd-up in MGS 4 :lol. And it made us take a second-look back at him in MGS 2. I think I was still hating on MGS 2 back in 2009. It's only in recent years that I've truly grown to have an appreciation for the game.

About where MGR can go next: the one thing it showed, was that after The Patriots were destroyed, there was a power vacuum that needed to be filled. Armstrong tried to do it, by using Desperado LLC. There might be other, similar threats that Raiden will have to stop in that timeline.

I thought Platinum had the rights to Rising, and what not? Oh that'll suck if Rising 2 isn't by them...

Well, it was a collaboration between them and KojiPro. Kojima served as the Executive Producer, and Rising's new plot was also developed in-house by KojiPro. All of the designs were also based from Shinkawa's art.

I'm not sure what the status will be for future Rising games... but hopefully, the series isn't dead.

I believe the designs were both Shinkawa and Platinums teams. I'd say unless there's a huge demand then Rising is dead. It all really depends on who specifically is taking care of the MGS IP.

We won't know anything for at least 6 months after MGSV is released

I hope it isn't either, I really do.

So did Shinkawa get fired also? Not sure I read much about what has happen to him.
