How not? There's plenty of reasons to argue against it.
Most of the points in that article are either poorly constructed or they don't tackle the issue.

The one that might do so is this one.

Liquid Snake. He’s blond. And we find out that he’s actually the dominant one… but brown is a dominant trait… so while it would make sense scientifically for all Snakes to be blond or Liquid having brown hair, it doesn’t for the dominant one to be blond and the recessive one to be a brunet.

But that's not how cloning nor twins work so it's equally easily dismissable.

Solidus has a very good point that counters the dying theory better than that entire article, Snake could've been born blond and lost it through adulthood, which is actually pretty common, faaaar more common than having cloned twins with different hair color.

Those new E3 trailers actually restored my faith for this game.

Really enjoying the crazy-looking stuff happening in the trailer. Don't mind more Liquid screentime in this, especially given how in MGS4 where Liquid Ocelot was actually more "Ocelot" in the end (mannerisms and schemes and all). The Parasite Unit looked like undead cyborgs out of MGS4 or something, which makes me curious how this all fits together in terms of the lore (some are speculating time-travel already haha!). Also Paz being possibly alive/rescued actually gave me a huge sigh of relief. I can't handle all this craziness but better that Kojima go out with a bang with this being his last MGS game, I say.

Same here, I'm confident it all fits into place somehow, even the craziest stuff in PW fits into place, and after years of believing some of the criticism for MGS4 was legit, turns out it also fits into place.

Time travel though, what makes you think that?

Ok, but what does snake being blonde as a child have anything to do with it? Other than this debunked MGSV theory.

Snake was brunette in the originals, and brunette in every single appearance. Except for maybe a briefing in one game where the camera is supposed to be low quality, lighting is very strong and the picture had high blooming.

Not to mention that originally Snake was going to dye his hair blonde as a disguise in MGS2. Why would he dye blonde as a disguise if he's naturally blonde?

Haha not me, but I've seen people throwing it around everywhere based on the stuff we've been seeing in these trailers. :lol

My statement says "Dyes his hair for missions", he was brunette in the originals, that also happened to be during missions, so for starters, that doesn't clear anything, see? That's what I mean by "doesn't tackle the issue".

If you dye your hair, and want to turn back to your original color, you need to dye it back, also, if Raiden were to speak about Pliskin with the Colonel or someone else, it would be far less conspicuous to be referred to as brunette instead of blonde, since Raiden didn't know him, but the Colonel or the others might, which might explain why he might have dyed his hair dark again, IF he's originally blond, since there was enough time to grow his original color back.

Sorry, that article is just not very good as an objective view, it's just "this doesn't make any sense to me because A and B" and A and B aren't that well grounded, it also does a poor job to cover all the holes to be considered as "has been settled", I'm not even sure it weakens the theory at all.

As of right now, Kojima might say either Snake was blond all along or that he was blond as a child and lost it, and both fit the story and canon just as fine.

The trailer was great! Although, I kind of forgot about everything after that last scene. At first, I thought it was Solid being put together with Liquid after being detained since they were together in Iraq. Then, I wondered if it was just a delusion since they’re wearing the same clothes. Maybe Liquid was told he had a twin brother and he obsesses over it. It could be that they're paralleling him with Big Boss' interest in Skullface. I'm just so stoked to see what's up with Liquid. Maybe we’ll still see kid Solid when he was with the Green Beret infiltrating Iraq? I don’t know, but that ending filled me with so many dorky questions! I love it!

I started selling off figures from the line I was collecting so I could buy MGS figures since it’s my favorite franchise. I’m debating whether to start grabbing these Play Arts Kai or hold out for Hot Toys. I don’t like having a lot of stuff, so I only want to get one line.

I’m not a big gamer so I haven’t seen anything else from E3. All I needed to see was this and that they’re remaking Final Fantasy VII. I’m set!

Saw the trailer few hours back. I have to say, this one really sold me on the game now. For one thing, it alludes to the ideas and tone of the game way better than any other trailer that came before and it indeed confirms that nothing in this game should be taken at face value- which is why I never paid attention to all these fan theories that were desperately trying to link all these footage within the mythology. If Kojima still has it in him, we could very well get another MGS2 in our hands, where nothing make sense and the grand theme is all that matters.

I'd like to add that with Skullface working with "Big Boss" and a shot Paz being alive, I can't help but wonder if the GZ mission was yet another ruse. I dunno, maybe Skullface was working with the real Big Boss all along in order to throw off Zero. I also believe that in order to convey the themes of hatred, race and revenge even better is to have a brand new protagonist. Maybe, just maybe that's why "Big Boss" has very little to say in this game.

In any case, I can't wait for this game, looks every bit as trippy as MGS2, which is the most brilliant in the series.

It would be incredible if this game has a few surprises in store. The caliber of intrigue and storytelling hasn't been the same since MGS 2. It's Kojima's last MGS game, ever - so he must have some tricks up his sleeves.

There are many things that called my eye, one of them, at the end of the trailer when you see the camera pan around Big Boss and Metal Gear is behind him, you clearly see there's no one behind him, but when the camera completes the panning, Skullface is behind him, when a second ago there was no one.

I bet gz is the end of the game. Its the only thing in my mind that could justify paz being alive for the chopper scene. The base getting destroyed? Remember that? It was fine in the new trailer. Maybe im wrong.

That was a good catch. Seems there's a lot of illusory things going on. I wonder what's real and what isn't. Even that whole hospital scene from last year's MGS V trailer was pretty trippy.

No, GZ is definitely the beginning of the game. It takes place two weeks after Paz takes a dive into the ocean with Zeke (which is where Peace Walker ended). Plus, Miller has all of his limbs, and Big Boss doesn't have a head horn :lol.

In all likelihood, Mother Base was rebuilt by Kaz prior to the events of V. I'm wondering how he ever got the funds to do it, though...

Yeah, there was a scene that showed BB driving away and some **** coming out of the ground behind him, almost like the shrapnel from his head, that reminded me to Volgin riding him fiery horse.
