Also all of you raving about Uncharted, do yourself a favor. Check out the older games in Naughty Dog's collection. Jak, and Crash :lecture See where they got their humble beginnings.

Crash reboot ****ing WHEN?

I actually love Crash way more than Mario, it's my go to platformer on my idle Sunday mornings.

I agree with you 100%. That was my problem with the Last of Us as well, which is why I didn't think of it as some new benchmark in gaming. To each their own, of course. However, I think Uncharted 2 deserves that kind of praise.

Yes, I also think it suites Big Boss much better. Seeing Fury Road this summer blew me away, so I definitely don't mind taking any influence from George Miller. I have to see if my library has "Beyond the Thunderdome", because I have never seen that one before.

Beyond the Thunderdome gets a ton of hate which I get, but I actually enjoyed it, the second half of the movie feels like Hook though :lol but I love that movie so I didn't mind. Fury Road was awesome!

I grew up playing Crash, those games were great but nothing like Uncharted at all :lol

Activistion owns that character I believe, I don't know why Sony hasn't try to buy it from them.

God knows. It breaks my heart every time though :monkey2 I did a play through of the original trilogy and Spyro the Dragon over the summer, and it was glorious.

There's a 10 year difference and ND was just starting out...of course it'll be different. It's like comparing Insomniac's work of Spyro to Resistance :lol

Naughty Dog does want the games back, I believe they've stated "Looking at Crash Bandicoot is like watching your daughter grow up to do porn" :rotfl or something similar. At least, they said the porn part. Sony I think also said something, not sure what.
Yeah I knew there was some retarded rights issues, it makes me sad, like MGS that franchise belongs on Playstation.
Truly does. No excuse for Crash not to be in PS All Stars, same with Spyro. I mean they brought back Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil and Spike from Ape Escape, though Spike now resembles a chibi Super Saiyan for some reason.

Oh maaan Spyro, and Medievil, I ****ing LOVED Medievil.... My 1st PS One came with Spyro, Medievil and Syphon Filter.

My nostalgia...

Now I want a Medievil figure :lol

I'll still give the movie a shot!

I never played Crash except for the multiplayer ones like Crash Team Racing and some game where you're battling each other. I actually did not own a console besides a Sega Genesis until 2007. I played games through friends and relatives; although most of the time I was just watching, because I had trouble remembering the buttons! Then when I finally got well-versed in learning how to play an action game, everyone got into first person shooters. It took me years to grasp how to adjust the camera, which is why I have so much love for using CQC, since I had so much difficulty aiming.

I have played through the Daxter collection, but I sold it after I got through the stories. It's not that they were bad, I just needed the money. Heck, I sold the Uncharted games too! The only reason I will never sell the MGS games is because it is my favorite franchise, and I will be playing them until my life is over. AKA when I have kids! I'm just kidding, I want kids.

probably won't happen but I'd like to see that series return. Though I do need to play MediEvil II...

Ape Escape could happen, Japan seems to adore that franchise like they do Crash (which is even stranger)

This again :lol it was very clear PO was MGSV from the get go

Nope. Remember when we were having this conversation, and I posted several links to Project Ogre being and IP along with Kojima interviews from 2010?

It's buried deep in the thread, so I'll probably have to dig it up again, though.

Probably not worth it.

But, we do, Gaspar-kun. Is a fact. Y u doubt?

"There are a lot of real world issues I want to address, but the reason I kept making the MGS saga and its sequels is that it allowed me to explore my ideas", said Kojima.

But now I'm starting a new series, focusing on new set of issues. It'll probably be different to what MGS addressed. Of course, I'm turning 50 now, so if I'm going to approach new topics, it might be something more on a human level, like the concept of love, or rearing a family, things of that nature".

Also, notice "love and rearing a family" :lol. Everything that he said in 2012 pointed to a new IP. I think it's typical that Konami eventually made him incorporate Project Ogre into MGS V.

Thanks for the déjà vu, Gasp :lol.

Yeah, I remember that those interviews were nothing but avoidance of topics and misdirection that he eventually backpedaled from, and just like with Moby **** (Mogren) and TPP announcement, the fans were on top on Project Ogre digging up ties to MGS from the very 1st screenshots, that were rooted in the lore established in MGS1, it wasn't a coincidence, it's very clear Kojima wanted to keep everything cryptic as usual but just couldn't, he tried it twice with a classic switcharoo and failed just the same.

Hell the fans even discovered Silent Hills within hours of PT's release, although that more luck than anything.

The fans know Kojima too well when it comes to his trollings.

Thanks for the déjà vu, Gasp :lol.
The screenshots he shared then say the complete opposite though.

It was obviously a ruse dude. :lol

Hell, one of the screenshots shows a dude wearing the exact same Jungle Fatigues BB wears in PW.

I share your sentiments, especially about David Hayter. I think TPP will be a good game, but from the reviews, it seems to bear very little semblance to the other games in the series. It's interesting to note, that Kojima was actually developing this as an IP called Project Ogre, before he made it into another MGS game. So, that may account for why it's so different in its execution.

"What has me concerned the most, is the limited voice work and sparse cinematic cut-scenes that were mentioned in the reviews. I love gameplay, but MGS has always been a story-based experience, with enormous dialogues and set-pieces to go along with them. The lack of codec conversations is also pretty jarring, as they were some of the most fun things in MGS 1 to 4."

I am glad I am not the only who feels this way. I agree that the epic set-pieces, dialogue, cinematic cut-scenes, and David Hayter is Metal Gear Solid. That is not to say you can't make a game without them but I don't think its Metal Gear Solid IMHO. I feel like many of us are here for those very reasons, they all stick out in our memory as those great moments of gaming. I feel that this game is going to focus too much on an action movie experience while highlighting how terrible of a person Big Boss becomes. I will miss those epic/memorable boss battles and tragic monologues from characters. Kojima was the one who insisted on the long cut-scenes because of his love for Hollywood films. It seems to me that this Metal Gear Solid was made for a general audience rather that MGS fans.

One can of worms that I have to open is who do you think suffered more/had a harder life Solid Snake or Big Boss? My vote Solid Snake, I will defend my opinion later.

I think he was also working on Zone of the Enders 3 but got canceled due to no one wanting to buy ****** half assed ps360 port of the first two games. All that concept art (and the figure? ) gone.

This will be a fun game for sure but it really isn't a mgs title. It's probably the only series I enjoy being funneled along on a tight narrative.

Yep. The series hasn't been heavy on that since MGS3... or a narrative I honestly care about for that matter.

I really think I'm just going to get the digital version.
