Metal Gear can continue, that's fine, but leave Metal Gear Solid alone. :lecture Kojima may have had a lot of involvement with Rising, but that game is proof the Metal Gear label can still pull through without the Solid title.

Bring Hayter back regardless, however.

I bet the individual credits was so Konami wouldn't forget who made the game, I really think that.

And, as much as I'd like to get another MGS, I don't want an MGS without Kojima, even with Hayter, or maybe I would.... If it wasn't Konami.

To hell with it, just give me the MG remakes.

:lecture This needs to happen, even without Kojima.

If this happens without Kojima, and is competent enough to show Konami can handle Metal Gear, I'll have faith in them. Hell, I think most of us will.
15 minutes left till I'll be ashamed of my deeds!
As Ryan counts down:

I prefer a new direction of Metal gear with different lead character . The best I can think is MGS prequel with Liquid Snake, his early year as SAS British before join Foxhound is so potential.

Anyway download on steam now

Did you buy a hard-copy or digital? Mine gets delivered tomorrow.

Kojima's big problem was that he could never find an appropriate team, to pass on MGS. But, if Konami can hire some good talent and still keep the games within canon (or heck, even reboot the stupid canon), I'm sure we'll have some things to be excited about. Portable Ops was proof enough that you can have a good MGS story without Kojima's involvement.

I think what I'd really like to see, is David Hayter writing the script for a game. The dude did a great job with X-Men, and I can only imagine what he'd bring to the table.

Wouldn't that be preferable if we want clean and proper remakes of MG anyway? :lol

Yeah, that's a good point :lol. I wouldn't mind a reboot of the franchise, to be honest.

Digital, as reasons I've mentioned to you before.

Without spoiling anything, I can safely say that this could have the potential to be another MGS2 again, as nothing appears as it seems. Please Kojima, go back to the time when you were a genius!

Oh yeah, I forgot you need to find an NTSC copy of the game :lol.

At least the story sounds promising. But, the gameplay and repetition that others have mentioned have me the most concerned.

By the way, is anyone close to finishing this as yet?

Loving the game but I'm not getting that familiar Metal Gear feeling.

The lack of Codec and theme song and squad enemies like Foxhound, Dead Cell, BB Corps, Cobra unit and yes even Desperado just lessen the feel of it. The Skulls so far are just things to run from rather than characters and Snake not talking at moments when he absolutely should is weird. Kaz over the radio said something like "That is huge" yet he's not there and without Snake telling him something about what is going on he can't have that reaction.

Gameplay wise there's a few small annoyances like not being able to stop an Intel report without having to listen to the whole thing. Sound overlaps like when a cassette is playing and enemies chat or when a idroid update sounds during an interrogation so you can't make out what is being said.

Here's some tip I stumbled on. Night Vision Goggles make finding plants a doddle. At Mother base you can interrogate your Diamond Dogs for Diamons locations and you can climb pipes

3 hours in, here are the good and bad so far:

GOOD:

- Gameplay is varied, freedom is left up to mostly your imagination.
- David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold the World" was some of my favorite songs growing up. My mom actually knocked on the door and was wondering why I was playing David Bowie.
- Controls are great.
- Acting is great.

BAD:

- The story doesn't want to be your friend, and frankly makes no sense at this point. The revenge part is pretty cut and dried, without any nuances. Get betrayed? REVENGE! GRRR!!
- The graphics aren't impressive at all. The water on Mother Base looks like a PS3 game.
- Music (original score) is underwhelming. Easily the worst in the series.
- Opening and ending credits gets old, REAL FAST.

This makes me very sad, every single concern I posted earlier and was worried about has all but been confirmed. I knew from the beginning that this game was not going to feel like Metal Gear Solid. With all of the changes and exclusions of what we loved about Metal Gear it sounds empty, maybe Kojima made this game so that we could feel what Big Boss felt like on the inside. I still think that as a game it will be great, but it is not Metal Gear Solid at least not to me. I hope that Kojima gets the opportunity to do some more work in the future with creative control.

Maybe Naughty Dog or CD Projekt Red will pick up Kojima, sigh one can always dream.

It does seems that once you're done with the story, you don't wanna play it again. I hope my impressions changes later on.

I'm listening to the cassette tapes too. Russians want revenge. Afghans wants revenge. Muslims want revenge. REVENGE I TELL YOU!!

wait I don't get why the game would have less replay value when it has less cutscenes and more gameplay? Sounds like there is more replay...

unless people liked watching cutscenes over and over again? Thought most would skip them after viewing once or twice.

Well, like Peace Walker, after you upgrade everything and level up to the limit, you really don't feel like touching the game again. I don't know many people who played PW over and over again after getting everything. The amount of grinding you have to do is enough for a lifetime. Seems like the same applies to this game. Again, I hope I'm wrong if the game picks up later on.

wow. Nobody should play this game online. Seriously. The most retarded **** just happened.

I knocked ps4 on this morning, said i can now log in so i set up my FOB ect. During a side mission i was playing i got told my FOB was being invaded, so i tried to enter and it said couldnt connect. Then i tried again and it started loading but before the actual map loaded up it said disconnected and it counted as my failing, and it actually un-levelled some of my in-game mother base stats! What the hell. Because the game cant connect me its started taking my stats down because it counted as me losing. AS the person was killing my crew.
