The enemy vehicles do get stronger over time as you progress in the game. Especially in side ops.

Completed the game! Ill round it off as 80 hours.

Im very unsatisfied. The ending, the cassettes at the end are cool and all. Some new lore stuff. But there was nothing amazing. Just "cool ". The game feels like it shouldnt of been a main line game as it didnt bring enough to the table classic MGS story and character wise.

I had a great time with the game. Im sure ill potter around here and there on it for fun over the weekend but that will be it. Theres no story to go back for, no sound track or memorable settings.

If i wasnt an MGS fan id say 7/10. Deducted so many points for mission re-use in the main story. Super lazy. Random difficulty spikes. I powered through the game because im an MGS fan.

As an MGS game? it is the weakest by far. By a long way. I cant give it more than 4/10 for story, characters, music and setting. Its got next to nothing going for it. But i must admit Sahelanthropus has shot right up my list as possibly my favorite Metal Gear.

That's about how I think of it now, and I still haven't completed it. I'm almost at 30%. I do like Africa a lot more than bland Afghanistan.

im only at 12% so far its great, but I feel the same way toward GTAv, I am only playing to pass the time till I can get online, thats where this game is gunna really pick up for me. Also feel fairly cheated by this games plot, though its cool in the overall narrative I suppose

Picked a copy up tonight:yess:

Starring Punished "Venom" Snake

Thanks for watching.

Starring "spoiling all characters to appear in this mission" created and directed by blah blah blah

Yeah no kidding :lol so amateur.

I'm going to try to refrain from playing online, since I'm sure it will infuriate me.

Just bought it today and clocked in 12 hours on this game. I'm now at main mission 6 where you have to find the rocket launcher.

Here are some initial thoughts after 12 hours.

1) This is the best Metal Gear solid game ever. It's like a puzzle book and you're truly given the freedom to play around within the rules. MGS 4 had a little bit of this and it was my favourite aspect of that game.

2) I feel this game is at its best when you switch things up and experiment rather than grind out with a particular strategy. I haven't got access to all the cool bells and whistles, but already with my limited toolset of tranq gun, cqc, cardboard box, C4 and Fulton, there are lots of fun options.

3) The mother base growth system is a clever answer to the RPG aspect to the game. One problem with games like Witcher is you start out as a weak level 1 character and during those first few hours you get seriously troubled by wolves and random roving bandits even though you're a master Witcher. Here you're really a masterspy/legend from the start and ready to kick butt. That sense of progression comes from your real understanding of the game couple with access to new equipment. Great!

4) It's a little weird that I have not met any civilians in the world of MGS5 yet. Lots of ghost villages but it's just solidiers.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

The world is so empty it feels like vr missions.

For something touted as a masterpiece I noticed sloppiness right off the bat. When you dump a body anywhere near a wall or surface you get heads and limbs going right through them.

That sounds like clipping that... every single game in existence has. We still struggle with clipping this gen.

35 hours in and I'm starting to question my sanity. I've been doing plenty of side missions and it has paid off well, I've gotten personnel and gear that would really help me out later on. I can't say if this is the best Metal Gear to date as the reviews are touting, in fact I feel quite the opposite.

The story is okay so far, a few plot developments keeps me engaged but as mentioned many, many times, the pacing in this game is atrocious. It's truly a game where you have to eat your vegetables to get the good stuff. And I hate veggies.

I'm at mission 5, I'm taking my time, I've chosen to do like 5 side ops besides the main ops, gameplay is just too damn good, find a high spot, figure out a plan, execute it, succeed, it's very rewarding, I'm gonna be playing this game for a couple months at least, if not years, it's the 1st game in a long time I feel I want to 100%.

Okay I like the ending.

A nice sendoff by Kojima to fans who followed the entire series.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain & Ground Zeroes

Yea man, I hope you end up enjoying more than I did, I've been checking gaming forums and tons of people think this is the greatest game of all time, even newcomers to the series, I personally disagree but I think it's great.

Thanks! I'm not done, but I am enjoying it more than you...well, maybe not. How much did you say you played in a day? I've never got off work or school for a piece of entertainment, whether it be a sports game, movie, video game, etc, but this game broke me! :lol Right now, I'd want to agree with those folks that this is the best game I ever played, but I got a ways to go.

I haven't played the Zelda, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Galaxy (basically any Nintendo games except Golden Eye, Metroid Zero Mission, and Super Smash Bros), Okami, Bayonetta, Halo games (except Halo 2), Grand Theft Auto, Witcher, Turn-Based RPGs, Kingdom Hearts, or Devil May Cry 3 (games that are considered among the all time greatest games), but from what I have played, these are the best to me until I finish MGSV:

1. Dark Souls
2. Metal Gear Solid V
3. Demon's Souls
4. Metal Gear Solid 3
5. Resident Evil 4
6. Red Dead Redemption
7. Ninja Gaiden Black
8. God of War II (Although, I didn't enjoy it until I played on Titan because it was too easy, but afterwards...yeah man!)
9. Uncharted 2
10. Bioshock

Currently my favorite part of the game was when
I went with my dog and rescued those kids. It was such a beautiful sequence. Quiet is a great buddy, but nothing is better than hanging with my dog!

Pretty cool that you not only get POW's and enemy targets from GZ you extracted added to your staff, but even play as them in the TPP missions.

I'm free on weekends so I actually stayed home the whole weekend to beat the story, which really messed up my gameplay experience a bit, because I rushed or skipped over some important stuff.

By the way, make sure in side ops you rescue the legendary gunsmith, it'll enable yo to customize you weapons like MGS4. I played the entire story before I did that :slap
