I agree with this. There's no indication that this is the end for Hayter's role in MGS.

I'm open to Kiefer being BB, he's a good actor.

That's what I said. If they had at least not handled the stuff with Hayter like jack-*****, I could easily have said "all right". But they did handle it like jack-*****, and now they get the backlash they deserve.

It's a conspiracy!

Avid Arad announced the MGS movie a while back. Kiefer must be playing Snake in the live-action movie. Avi knows that Kojima has a penchant for misdirection and pranks, so he asked Kiefer to do a fake his part in this MGS5 video. Kojima asks Hayter to put up some fake bitter tweets. It all adds up, and Kojima is just trolling us again.

It's no stunt. All the Kiefer and Avi Arad appearance just for a troll? Even Kojima wouldn't try that hard.

This is the same ***** they try pulling with Dave Bateson with Hitman Absolution. They got William Mapother (of Lost fame) and also got him to do the motion capture.

Fans uproar really brought Bateson back. Sadly it didn't work for Snake. Worse thing is, in the Japanese version, Kojima is ok with Akio voicing it. They could have done it like Bioshock where Elizabeth facial capture and voice are two different person.

Pages ago, when the whole "Hayter is the ONLY Snake" discussion was flaming here, I wrote why I think a new voice-actor, could be a jolt of fresh energy for the MGS series (and certainly nothing franchise-breaking), as long as we got someone who can deliver. Well now I know we got someone awesome. I cannot wait to see Snake brought to life by such a gravelly badass as Kiefer.

This is the turn the game industry is making. They want good on screen actors for the motion capture so voice actors are getting kicked to the curb because its cheaper to pay one guy than two.

Not really, and there's not enough precedent for this to be a sign of things to come. Traditional voice actors are called upon a lot to do face capture. Half-Life 2, the Uncharted series, The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, etc etc.
