Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I continuing topics people are already talking about while your chiming in with the same thing every page hoping someone notices. And I was providing you some constructive criticism you just flipped **** over it. Not my fault.

As was I, while also attempting to bring some different light to this announcement, and you decided to complain and "wa wa wa" to me. I'm not your god damn babysitter, go whine to someone else you big ****ing baby. So I'm wrong, so ****ing what?

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Not really, and there's not enough precedent for this to be a sign of things to come. Traditional voice actors are called upon a lot to do face capture. Half-Life 2, the Uncharted series, The Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite, etc etc.

True but most of those game are older now and we are starting to see this switching of the voice actors more and more. Infinite when the route of using two actors for Elizabeth one for motion one for voice and Troy Baker (Booker is Infinte, Joel in The Last of Us) does both voice and motion capture.

Maybe you should eat your shorts....

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

You're taking it well, krec! I'm just hoping Kiefer doesn't do his typical "Kiefer voice" and we actually get some effort in his voice acting.

It's a odd choice but if kiefer does the voice I agree try to sound a little different .yea I'm surprised I'm taking it well myself.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

When Kevin Conroy took over Adam West as THE bat, at least Warner Bros gave West a cameo.

West even gave his blessings to Conroy.

When Keifer Sutherland took over David Hayter as Snake, at least Hayter got a lunch meeting from a representative of Konami.

Hayter even compared MGSV to new Coke. :lol

Hayter wasn't even informed on losing the role, he had to go to them and question it. I'm starting to think that Bill Lumbergh runs Konami.

That's true about Elizabeth being played by two actresses, but the second women was a motion capture actress who's career was built from that kind of work.

I think there is still more examples of voice actors doing face capture than celebrities doing it for video games.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Lets hope PS4 does not block used games because that's how I will be getting this.

I will say the graphics look good and its exciting that they are offering the Fox Engine up to other developers.

And you may be right but we are still going to see more long time voice actors losing their job to some motion capture actor. I remember when the Batson thing was going on I thought "this could never happen to Hayter" and look where we are...

no one is safe:lol

Most Japanese games are done this way, with VA's and MoCap actors being separate.

You're right. Dead Space is a good example of such.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Fan support brought James McCaffrey back as Max Payne, and he did the motion capture for MP3. I can let this slide since I prefer Hayter as Snake, but Max can't be played by anyone but James.

It always seems that fan demand always falls on deaf ears when it comes to Japanese game companies. Just look how deep a hole Capcom has dug for themselves? Then there's Shenmue and Sega :impatient:

Yeah. I'm saying that even if David was supposed to sit this one out, at least have him talk to Keifer Sutherland. All these advances in technology yet you didn't ask the David to advice Keifer Sutherland for the role?

If that happened, not only would it have softened the blow among fans, but also probably help the authenticity. As good an actor Keifer Sutherland is, he could always learn a thing or two from the guy who has been doing it for 15 years.

Ain't that the truth, but then again it's Rockstar, they aren't micromanaging and trying to save money by skimping out on the talent. I still can't believe Hayter had to take a cut in pay for TTS.

What it comes down to, Naked Snake should of never been started and continued with Hayter. It's far too late for it.
