I will admit that I did not, especially when Kojima stated he got rid of Hayter and his justification hiring an A-List actor was for a more subdued performance but then kept the Japanese voice actor even though Hayter is not a young guy and could easily pass for an older man. On top of that he went on to diminish the number/length of cut scenes (generally speaking), removed codec conversations, wrecked the story, and added a failure of biblical proportions twist at the end of his last Metal Gear Solid game that instead of honoring fans slapped them in the face.
I am not a hayter, in fact I love Kojima and the Metal Gear Solid Franchise however Kojima being who he is and creating what he has I hold him to a much higher standard and will be quick to voice opposition to what I consider mistakes or failure on his part.
The fact that Sutherland has one page of dialogue in the entire game, just goes to show that the change of VA was completely aimed at star appeal and to get a big name on the marquee. There was no reason at all, to not go with Hayter again... the game would be at least a notch up from what it was, just based on nostalgia. Sutherland wasn't bad, but it's only because he acted in one emoticon and maybe said 2-3 words at a time after Kaz and Ocelot drop two pages of script at him.
This game still feels like a demo of the fox engine to me just like GZ was. Can't wait to get done and will probably sell it on.
I said from the very beginning, it felt like this was just a giant commercial for other companies to buy the engine. Although, I find the graphics in this pretty deplorable for a next gen.
Has it been mentioned, the load times in this are laughable? What year is it, that it takes like 10 seconds to open up certain sections of the iDroid?
