I'm 53 hours in and I'm still not finished. You'll definitely want to spend time with the side-ops to get better soldiers, too. And mentioning Mother Base, nah I won't spoil it... let's just say that there are some instances in the game that can break your progress, and you'll have to find yourself backtracking all over again.

Thanks. I'm not worried about Side-ops though, I've done like 20 of those and I usually beat them as soon as they pop up, and my army is pretty decent, got like 5 unites out on missions and I always go out of my way when I see some nice stats on a soldier... I lick my lips while watching them through my binoculars and go after them.

You're going to cry later on :lol.

I could PM you a bit of spoilerish information, but it'll save you a lot time and spare you from a headache.

That'd be nice, but would it be possible to not spoil the story? I could use the tips.

On second thought, nah.

Picked up a guy in a tent to Fulton him outside when his buddy decided to wake up. Took him out by throwing the guy on him :lol

You can also kick your enemies to wake them up. I loved kicking those child soldiers most of all, and knocking them out with CQC. Rinse and repeat :rotfl.

Well, the idea of more work doesn't sound bad tbh, I'm enjoying the journey a lot so I'm actually looking forward to the repeated missions on harder difficulty.

I've noticed going back to missions from near the start of the game that they are ramped up in difficulty. Random mines that you dont expect, that catch you out when you are speed running. There will be a shotgun guy or 2 at an outpost.

I tried the parasite suit for the first time earlier. Its pretty damn great for just running in the middle of a crowd of baddies in a camp and just wrecking their **** with CQC while bullets dont do **** to you

Alot of the optional extras in the game are fun. I havent even really tried the crazy arm gimmicks yet

Had a few successful base defenses, and I messed up in one invasion... there's a lot of connection problems. This one guy was invading and I couldn't connect to defend, but he lost anyway. I got 600,000 GMP for one defense.

??? you get robbed? never knew that. i can never get online for some reason.

Yep, I looked in my history and one guy stole 90,000 in resources. Such bull ****.

Yea, I've been playing offline the whole time.

Even doing that, you'll still be invaded.

I actually think Plissken should go down as a martyr as he spared everyone from the terrible let down that is the end of this game.

I went into it with a very open mind, honestly... but damn, I just can't find anything redeemable about it outside of the gameplay. MGS4 has plenty of problems, but at least it had a ******* story... the only true problem I had with that was Big Boss being alive at the end... so hack and cliche.

I will admit that I did not, especially when Kojima stated he got rid of Hayter and his justification hiring an A-List actor was for a more subdued performance but then kept the Japanese voice actor even though Hayter is not a young guy and could easily pass for an older man. On top of that he went on to diminish the number/length of cut scenes (generally speaking), removed codec conversations, wrecked the story, and added a failure of biblical proportions twist at the end of his last Metal Gear Solid game that instead of honoring fans slapped them in the face.

I am not a hayter, in fact I love Kojima and the Metal Gear Solid Franchise however Kojima being who he is and creating what he has I hold him to a much higher standard and will be quick to voice opposition to what I consider mistakes or failure on his part.

I don't see how the ending is a smack in the face. The story is 100% Metal Gear, the lack of cutscenes is the problem.

That sucks, I just seen when I loaded my disk today that there is a known issue with mission 29 and 45 if using Quite, were you on any of those missions by chance?

Luckyily no. I was just free roaming Africa and was exploring/raiding an airport location for supplies etc. And the game suddenly crashed. Some error statement popped up. I have a sneaking feeling it's due to the online connectivity to Konami's server. When I'm connected online, it takes forever to load certain idroid functions. I now disconnect and play offline. So much smoother.

Anyway, I can confirm that if a game crashes, all the resources you picked up remains marked as obtained on the map when you return. But all soldiers are restored and tags disappear. Also all the materials crates reappears.

This game still feels like a demo of the fox engine to me just like GZ was. Can't wait to get done and will probably sell it on.

Something strange happened. I wanted to do a stealth takedown/grab around the corner. Somehow the R2 prompt did not show up and I ended up having to combo punch the guy in quick reflex. Not sure what I pressed but snake slams the guy into the railing and ends up killing him!

He is definitely dead though cuz blood was oozing out of his head while on the ground. I always thought cqc was non-lethal unless you knife them.

Anyone had this in their game? Maybe it's an eggshell skull victim case!
