Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I am really curious about Sutherland's work, feeling very positive about it.

I can definitely listen to him as BB, no problemo.

I'm a huge fan of Kiefer Sutherland's - I absolutely loved his work in 24. But, all of this, just really alludes to Konami's unjust firing of David Hayter.

I'm sure that he will do a good job as Big Boss, though. I can only hope that Hayter will return to MGS to voice Solid Snake.

The Hayter case cannot be forgotten, many people will hold that grudge against Kojima until the end of his days, or until he fixes it (by bringing Hayter back and throwing him a parade), and rightly so.

Even I can't let that pass by.

But still, it's BB, I'm all on board with Sutherland, Solid Snake is a different matter.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

I still don't believe Hayter is gone permanently either way, but I finally watched the whole Sutherland video...and it screamed "phony" to me, I was laughing the whole first half of the video it seemed so fake.

Avi Arad, a good friend of Kojima? And him saying "a friend of mine used to be Snake, but Kiefer is a class by himself". Why on earth would they include in the video him essentially trash talking Hayter, especially when they are aware of the backlash right now (I have no doubt they've been seeing the coverage on gaming sites and Twitter).

If it's all for real, including Hayter being gone permanently, I'll be even more shocked than I was at the supposed firing of Hayter, and I'll feel pretty dumb. I can't wait for E3 now. :lol

:exactly:Heres to hoping a SS return with david as his VA on the next installment. Hopefully this is just phase to establish bb and ss as 2 diff characters since 2 characters with davids voice would be weird

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Ok, so there's something I'm confused about for this game. I remember sometime ago Kojima said MGS4 would take up 7 discs if he wanted it on the Xbox 360. Of course that means MGS4 is a huge game. But, if MGS5 is going to be on 360 does that mean it will be smaller than MGS4?

I can't see this being on current gen.

The new FOX engine may have been developed to have better data management, and more efficient data compression/decompression. Besides, a lot of data in MGS4 was due to the uncompressed audio.

It's not the size of the game that worries me, it's how the current gen consoles could cope with the strain of processing the game. An unlocked, below 30fps with reduced activity on screen? No thanks.

Kojima would probably end up making MGSV for next gen, if not I'd really loose faith in the guy.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yawn.
Anyway this whole thing will either be an ellaborate ruse or go down like the xbox one reveal. Sad times.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Apologies, i'm stuck at work, in a mood, bored and peed off at this Sutherland fool announcement. They are either winding us up or really trying to piss us off!

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

What... are.... you... talking about? You posted in the MGS collectible thread and I can't make heads or tails what you're trying to say with your sentence structure.

Maybe he doesn't know who he is?:dunno

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Wow, good points from Greg on IGN. I'm definitely not as enthused for MGS V as I was for MGS 4. Don't really agree with him on Peace Walker, though.
