Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Plus I don't think there's any material to make an MGS4 prequel, Snake being retired again and what not, just like prior to MGS1.

The only way to go is the MG remakes, and maaaaybe MGS1 remake, that's it for me.

That's what I've beat into the ground for the longest time. I never wanted anything outside of those you mentioned. I don't know where this guy is getting his information on me.

MGS1 was already mentioned so I guess we will see remake 2.0 in the next 5 years.

Dude... really?

I hate MGS2 for Raiden, and I hate MGS4 for the cluster**** that it was. Do you HONESTLY THINK... I want a sequel to MGS4 with Snake? Really process that in your head and get back to me.

Yeah, the main character of MGS2 is Raiden of course you would hate it. Well, you complain about prequels so what else am I supposed to believe. Prequels not on BB but SS, right? It just makes no sense to me that you would hate the series because of that one character. Don't get me wrong SS is my favorite character too but I'm not so closeminded to just disregard the other games.

You barely even see Snake or play as him in MGS2. Kojima was writing him off immediately after MGS1 and then we had almost a 10 year gap before we got to play as him again and he's a ****ing old man.

So now were pigeonholed to play this ******* prequels that have no coherent story.

I loved Snake Eater, I don't hate Big Boss. If you stalked my post for awhile I've made that clear. I don't hate that character, I hate Kojima for this cumbersome plot he's made in the 70's and 80's.

And how are we supposed to take Big Boss seriously with a ****ing horn?

I don't disregard the other games at all, I just dislike the PSP titles.

I wish this wasn't through text so I can actually get this straight. It's just easy to assume you're JUST a diehard SS fan because of your profile, banner, name, and hate for the more recent MGS games. So, sorry if I came across as a jerk but it ticked me off because it seemed like you were hating on a great series because of a character change.

Originally it was kinda of jealously I admit that, but that time has passed. It's more of a irritation of Kojima's choices for the route the series has taken.

I don't hate Big Boss at all, I think his prequels should of never went to the a handheld. Maybe then I wouldn't diss them so much since so much more could of been done on a console like with Snake Eater.

As a game, I put Snake Eater almost on the same level as MGS1 as a experience. Although I feel like I'm the only one around here that appreciate MGS2 solely on the story due to all the 4th wall breaking and mind manipulating story.

I just wish he would remake MG1 and MG2, it has both Snake and Big Boss in it and it would make all fans happy.

And I never "hated" the series, just it's becoming frustrating.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Seeing how the series is in this weird rut, it's only logical that all these prequels meet up with present day MG, sort of.

Remakes to MG1/2 would be great, but he'd probably have to add on to the story of them more since there isn't that much girth to them. That would worry me if he did because I still see those games as masterpieces for their time. I can see you becoming frustrated, but you shouldn't worry about Kojima forgetting SS. He's stated before that SS' isn't done.

He says that... but I'm thinking it won't be anytime soon that he's a star again.

Of course the stories of those games would need to be fattened up since they have not aged well at all.

Koji Pro talked about remaking MGS1 once again well over a year ago. So if I had to guess the series might take a turn for Snake once again in probably the next 5 years.

I'm fairly certain SS will be the focus again after MGSV. There's no other story for BB after it since it's about his fall to becoming a villain (at least I hope it is). MGS1 should not be remade again. Twin Snakes was as good a remake could get. I think SS' first mission would be a cool idea for a game.

You think TTS was as good as it could get? Silicon Knights destroyed that game. It would of been worlds better if it was handled specifically by Koji Pro, and on the Fox engine.

The biggest problem with all these prequels is that Big Boss was written out to the be the good guy in the end. It undermines the darkness that is being written for him in these prequels.

He should of stayed the bad guy, or at least the anti-hero that Solidus was.

Ok, let me rephrase it. It was the best a remake could get for the time. Yeah, fox engine would make it "better" but I just don't like remakes that much. Imo games should be experienced how they were in the time they were made.

Well there wasn't any motivation for BB to becoming a bad guy yet. I'm expecting it to be explain in MGSV. Remember Kaz still has to leave BB's side. I remember him calling BB a "monster" in MG2.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Im ok with the gaps between MGS1 and 2 (remember Philantrophy destroyed thousands of Metal Gears?...I WANT THAT). And Between 2 and 4 with Raiden/Snake chapters. Yup. I still want to know the original story before it became Revengeasdbhdabshdbasdjasce

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Oh and if Kojima succeeds in this Open-world morph in the series, there should be more place for other characters. At least it worked pretty good with the Robin/Batman chapters in Arkham City.
But I guess Raiden and Snake were never together in the gap between 2 and 4...
