Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Man this thread is busy, I can't keep up, lol. I'm just wondering how we get from him losing his arm to getting a replacement that looks real.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Yup TPP is MGS5 and ground zeroes is its prologue.

I'm hoping they'll both be released on pc. Next Gen is a given

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

What's a bigger mystery is that why is this game still being tagged under PS3 and 360?

We all know that Kojima loves new tech and he has mentioned it so many times during the development of MGS3 so it seems natural that with the next gen approaching it would be for next gen consoles.

It's no secret that current gen consoles chokes badly to run new multiplatform games so I just don't see a good reason for MGS5 to be on current gen.

I also don't see MGS5 getting both next gen and current gen releases, that's fines for sports games but not for an action game that heavily relies on processing power.

Wait a sec, maybe Ground Zeroes (the prologue) will be current gen and Phantom Pain is next gen? Kojima did say he wanted to experiment with episodic content..

they could be *******s and have phantom pain on current gen and Gz on next gen.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Finally got to see the new trailer. Either I had some tears of joy watching a new MGS trailer, or some random debris hit my eye while I was sitting at my desk.

I am going to go with the latter..... yeah......

That episodic article didn't mean something like the Walking Dead series. He wanted to pretty much make a "prototype" to see if there's good reception. “Something similar to a TV series, where you can use pilot episodes to test the waters before you jump completely into the project,” he said.

Watched the trailer..

Five times.

Image relevant, because I cannot convey how soul-happy it made me.

I actually thought GZ and Phantom Pain were the same game, and Kojima just masked TPP with GZ demo.

I am a Big Boss fan, but it kinda sucks that both games announced will have no variety in the protagonist.

Who knows? Maybe in one of them, we get to play as Ocelot or get to witness the making of Solid Snake.

Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

*sigh, there's no point of comparison between Lucas and Kojima, the fact that some of you don't like Big Boss doesn't mean Kojima's milking the franchise, that's axiomatically illogical, to "milk" a franchise with a character that's not the most loved and popular, those claims are just so out of place and random.

I personally like both Big Boss and Solid, I like Solid a tad more, and Kojima hasn't done anything to make people question his artistic commitment to the franchise.

PW was not pointless, it was a master piece like any other MGS game.

Anyway, here's a trailer analysis by IGN, those analysis are usually pretty good and it's one of the few things I like about IGN.

You're obviously under the influence of a exotic substance to say something insane like that.

He's milking the franchise plain and simple. Sticking with the same character for close to four straight games is not based on his artistic views. Snake Eater was a hit, so he's sticking with the cash cow.

Nope, just chocolate milk, I'm not a psychotropic enthusiast like some of you here mate ;)

Yeah, so, Snake Eater was a success, if he wanted to milk the franchise why not continue straight with that story line instead of Making MGS4 about Solid Snake? Contradictions.

And how can you possibly know his artistic views? :cuckoo:
