Jack Bauer's voice is a "breath of fresh air" :monkey3

Here's a 23 minute special of 24 Live Another Day :rock. According to one of the producers: "You didn't have to watch the show before, to watch the show now - we're designing it so you can get right on board the train". You newbs and your bitty-boppy MGS Ground Beef don't know The Kief unless you've watched 24! So, you better watch this :lecture. The new season starts May 8th.

I've actually watched all seasons up to 7 of 24. You think season 8 is worth looking into, Solidus?

I couldn't imagine not watching the last season of a show! Unless it was Dexter, I wish I hadn't seen that :lol

Season 8 turns too much into an action movie for my liking but still very good! I think it was episode 22 that was amazing where he kits up fully

Solidus, peace tribute, pls b me bro again.

Anyone who hasn't seen 24, hasn't lived :lol

Indeed. In my mind, it's still the best show that has ever aired on television. I started questioning the meaning of life when 24 was officially cancelled. I could live without The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones... but, 24 has left a void in my TV viewing has never been filled. I'm not even being sarcastic here.

Season 8 will at least give you an idea of why Jack is on the run. There's also a pretty worthwhile and hilarious confrontation with ex-President Logan that's worth the watch :lol. Jack does get really, really screwed over in the end, and he's forced into hiding for several years - which is what leads up to the new season beginning in May.

Season 3 was kind of weird, because Jack was battling a heroin addiction while trying to keep it a secret at CTU :rotfl. And Season 6 was like Michael Bay's version of 24 with explosions of mindless action. There were also some newly introduced characters in that season like Mike Doyle and Nadia Hassan who never make an appearance again in the series... for whatever reason :dunno. But, I would still recommend watching Season 6, because it goes into details about Bauer's past and his family also makes an appearance.

I'd say that seasons 3 and 6 were the weakest entries into the series. But, I guess if you could skip one season, it would be Season 3.

Anyway... as for MGS V, I was thinking about Skull Face last night, and there's something very odd about him. This was probably brought up before, but he quoted Big Boss verbatim a few times in his interactions with Chico:

"Nothing to be ashamed of, pain gets the better of us all"
"Growing up means choosing how you're going to live your life."

So, the real question is, how is Skull Face able to recall the private conversations that Big Boss had with Chico? In terms of a more practical explanation, maybe Paz was spying on Big Boss's codec conversations, and leaked it to Cipher where Skull Face caught wind of Big Boss's activities during the Peace Walker events.

But, I don't think this is the case. He seems to have a very intimate knowledge on Big Boss - something that's very personal, and he even said at one time (with a disgruntled tone) "that's the kind of man he is".

What do you guys think?

Wasn't the person quoting it was never identified? It was the captured MSF soldier who told Big Boss that, if I recall.

Most likely answer would be that Kojima just wanted to simulate an Ironic Echo in his writing (in this case, it's probably treated like a Dark Reprise). It's done in a lot of fiction, some even by two characters that barely even know each other. When implemented on two characters saying the same things, it serves to highlight a similarity or contrast between their views/morals (heck it's practically done in my most favorite anime). That said, I have heard some people theorizing that he could possibly border on the supernatural in some way ("Ghost Without A Past").

While the first one seems like the most likely one, this is Kojima so we'll never know till Phantom Pain comes out. Heck it could very well be both (Kojima is making an Ironic Echo AND Skull Face is somewhat supernatural by nature). If all else fails..... NANOMACHINES, SON.
