New War machine was just announced and its Die-cast, so I don't think its being discontinue.

It's diecast becuase the first one was diecast. The rumor was that they will not make new diecast figures. For WM it's not new. The tooling was made as diecast tooling. You can not make plastic parts with diecast tooling (molds).

That figure is absolutely no indication of future plans either way.

If this is true, funny how the timing of Hot Toys deciding metal isn't the way forwards after all coincides with Play Imaginative apparently snuffing it...

I thought Howard wanted to make the first 7 suits diecast that's all.

He answered a question posed to him. What was he going to say? No, go ahead and buy from other people becuase we are unsure? And even if they wanted to make them at one point that does not mean they still do, or even can. There's not a lot of upside for hot toys. DC is harder to produce, requires completly different machines, tooling wears out faster, and other complications like every part needing multiple paint coats, where plastic can be dyed and some parts not painted, or at least not not painted on every surface. With DC the whole part needs paint. And if they do not sell significantly better then plastic it would be poor business to keep doing it. Right now I think the only driving force is other companies who selling point is DC figures.

Anyway...at this point it could go either way.

Hmmmm... I actually prefer the plastic. Better for my wallet :lol I did hope to own at least 1 die-cast, was gonna pre-order this but then decided to wait due to the rumor of all original 7 being done in die-cast. Was waiting for a mark IV as it's the only armor I didn't pick up that I really liked. That being said I wish they would let us know cause then I would jump on either this or the new AOU War Machine MK2 (I already have the original MK3 BD). If they discontinue the die-cast prices most likely will sky rocket for the few they made.

Why would they come out and say anything about a figure they have never sconfirmed? It makes no sense really. It does not help them in anyway. And if things change down the road and they do make them they would have made someone mad.

And even if they plan on making the figures, it will be ten years before they get through the first 7 armors. Even after a figure is announced and up for order it takes over a year, sometimes two, before it comes out.

So if you are waiting for some unannounced figure that may not ever come, be aware that if it does, it will be maybe four or five years potentially.

They will have alot on their plate with everything that's on the way... Re-releasing old figures probably won't be a priority. Especially since there will probably be a number of suits in Civil War

Boy you just love putting your own spin on people's posts. :pfft: I was merely commenting on the posts about the "rumored' discontinuing of the die-cast figures. Waiting is not a problem, and I never said anything more than it was a "rumor" they were making all 7. And it was my decision to wait on this since I own the original MKIII BD and I don't even care about the exclusive as I also own the original MKII which came with the same mini arc reactor. As you can see I've been buying these since day one. I've paid retail for each and every one I own. I have everything I've really wanted. My only regret was the MKIV so I'd "patiently" wait to see if they were going to at some future time announce a die-cast version. I don't need anything bad enough to pay aftermarket prices. I just would've liked to own at least one die-cast. If they were cancelling them, then I'd buy one of the 2 I stated. As far as bad business, if a company actually cares about its customers they would be upfront and let them know their plans. There have been several interviews with Howard when he has confirmed or denied future plans. Why wouldn't he?? Beside's, how long did Iron Patriot and War Machine Mark II hang around? Would be a good way to get rid of them by letting people know they were considering no more die-cast. I'm allowed to have opinions and make statements just like you. :cuckoo: Stop bullying me or I'll tell!!!! :rotfl

Why wouldn't he? ---it's a no win. If he says we have no plans to make them he/they get slammed for saying they did have plans and that they are just doing it to get people to buy the new products and stuff like that (see what the reaction to basically the exact same thing has been with burton catwoman and penguin)...

Then if they do ever want to, have the time, or market shifts and they then want to make them how does that look? Would anyone believe them if they announced it?

And as for me putting my spin in your comments...it's ok for you to chime in on things I and others say, but I can not say anything sbout what you say? This is a public forum. What you say is read by others, as is all posts. I often comment on posts because I feel there's info someone else reading the thread may be interested in. I was addressing not just what you said but others, and anyone reading. It's great you have been buying since hot toys started fifteen years ago. And every purchase is retail. And you know how everything is done. But not everyone does. If someone just started or maybe just didn't have the same level of understanding they may see a post that your waiting for mkiv diecast and think it's comming soon. Or not know that it takes a long time. Especially with a figure that has not been announced and no prototype has even been shown. Also, how am I to know that you are this decades long hot toys collector? Anyway..so I posted what my thoughts and opinions where. I fail to see how that is any different then what you did.

:thud: this is getting tiresome :rotfl..... so many Iron Man figures, when will it end?

Generally when someone uses emoji's, :pfft: :cuckoo: :rotfl it's a light hearted post... I did mean I was laughing at the end. I was better explaining my comment. I guess you took everything too seriously. You can comment about my posts all you want, but it's better to say you agree or disagree than to try to point out someone is wrong about something, and if you do you can do it politely. When you quote someone's post and then argue what they say, you usually get a reply. But thanks for being the voice for all the new and unclear readers to the forums... :clap

I figured you where not overly serious in your post. But for me, emoticons don't change the meaning of the actual words used. And I dont pay any attention to them because of that. If I put them into my post would that have changed anything for you? (Seriously asking)

It's been my experience on here that it does not matter if I am super polite or not...when the point of what I say is in opposition or contradiction. So I stick to just saying what I want to say.

As for quoting and whom a post is directed...I understand what you are saying. And if this where just a conversation between you and me, like say in a text or pm, I'd completly agree. But that's not the case though. This rumor got started in the first place because someone posted a comment on a forum. (Most likely) and my post was not just directed to some random reader anyway. It was toward you. I had no way to know the things you subsequently told me (how long u been collecting ect
