...well at least it shows they can be posed in such a way that doesn't make the height difference so noticeable.

UPS just delivered this to my job.. sucks I have to work until 4. Will make my first attempt at the ground pound pose tonight. Pics will follow.

And it shows that the difference is negligible. I think the height thing is another unnecessary drama, they are pretty close. And as people said, the actual costume suits would have been different etc, but even if Iron Man was real, I imagine the suits would all be slightly different sizes anyway. Not worried about it at all.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned what a PITA it is to remove the plastic film from the metal foil parts under the back armor plates.

Its because they reused the Mark III Construction torso piece...can't think of any other reason to do it.

Why is this myth still being presented as fact.

The parts that make up the Mark 3 Construction armor and the Mark 3 Die Cast armor could not possibly be interchangeable, nor could they have came from the same molds.

.....That being said, they should at least be the same height. That much is for sure......That is why I am not forking over $300+ for this Mark III......

Odd reasoning to not get such an awesome figure

Sadly, I think you are correct. I don't see the DIECAST series going too much further along.

That’s what a lot of people said when they first announced it. The the first 3 would be the only die cast releases.

The 45 is the most recent non HPP pre-order and it's die cast.

I don't get why people think Hot Toys would invest so much money into new equipment only to give up on it after a couple figures.

Hmmmm, I guess they really did go light on the die cast then... you'd think the figure would hit the ground at that angle...

The Mark 3 weighs 1 pound 9 ounces, Iron Patriot weighs 1 pound 14 ounces.

Got him today he is awesome! I am totally in for the MK 2,4,5,6,7 in diecast

Did you intentionally skip the Mark 1?

okay guys....Im debating on getting this for my suit up gamtry display. Besides the mark IV, which iron man suit looks the best in the gantry? I already have the marks 1-7 in the hall of armor and am a little hesitant on rebuying another of the same mark but this new diecast mark 3 has me grinding my teeth...Is it worth it?

I think the Mark 2 Unleashed figure looks the best in the Gantry since it has so many open areas

Huh. Interesting about the height. Has anyone put him in a Hall of Armor display or just lined up with all the other armors? That's what i'm mainly going for and was wondering if anyone has put him there yet and was wondering if you could notice the height difference.

That's the first time I have seen the new Mark III in a HoA set up, thanks for sharing! I like that the lines on the back of the HoA show the relative heights too. All pretty much the same except the Mark I (shorter, more basic. Head is just a bucket) and the taller Mark VII (more heavily armoured, more thrusters, generally bigger). I think the Mark III is just right, and matches the Mark II nicely.

EDIT: And I also love that you can just see Igor through the floor, looks really cool!

I have no plans to do so as im not getting the mk3. But just some info for those planning to do so.

I suppose if someone was planning to get the MKIII for the singular purpose of posing him next to AOU Cap, then they should know that the MKIII is a bit shorter in case that matters to them.

Or for an avengers display.

I got him as my single IM to display with the rest of the Avengers. Makes me wonder if I should have gotten the 43 instead for that purpose.

I think it depends on if you plan to pose him in museum poses or something more dynamic which can hide the slight differences in height. I think it still could look good with the Avengers, it just depends on how you pose them.

Unfortunately I'm a museum poser, so the height is immediately noticeable.

Yup what he said. If a musuem pose probably not. Dynamic poses would work great as the mk3 is a nice looking figure and so iconic. Looking at your past pictures i am sure you can find something to do with your display that makes him fit in and look awesome!!

It's hard to say exactly but it is quite possible that depending on which armor tony is in his height could be different. In my mind an armor like the Mark 5 he would be shorter based on the compact nature of the suit coming from a suitcase. I would think that many of his armies would have different heights based on the tech that is involved and included. The only heights I've seen are from the avengers movies and he only wore a handful of armors so it's tough to day definitively.
Here are a few reference shots and a scene for better visual reference.

I don't think anybody can help you with that, its totally personal preference. For example, if I was making an Avengers display, I would go for the VII. It is first movie accurate, and I think it looks better than the 43.
Mark III is more iconic in terms of a classic Iron Man look, but as the figures are based on the movies, I personally go for movie looks and III was scrap by the time the Avengers rolled around. I doubt the height would be noticeable unless you are a straight line, museum pose kinda guy. Even then, only if you already knew about it. 43 is an awesome figure too though, so I don't think you will be disappointed with either.

Pick whichever you prefer, like I said, there isn't a wrong or right choice, just whatever you like most.
