A few pages back I posted with the Mk43 in various torso/leg configurations-
43 torso in, legs up

43 torso out, legs down

yup, big difference here! Thanks again for this. The same should be true for War Machine.

C'mon... seriously. This picture right here sums up this figure. Ridiculous.

People really need to relax about this. I am not saying MkIII is not shorter, it is, but not by much. Look at your example, WM is standing on an angle and is closer to the camera. He will look taller. The image is distorted (look at the shape of Cap and WMs heads compared to IM).

Look at Stealth's picture from the Cap thread:

Not a huge difference. Like I said, yes there is a difference, but definitely not worth this much drama.

And War Machine is normally shown slightly bigger (except when he is in the Mark II) and bulkier than IM anyway:

Look at Boba Debt's picture with it in the HoA, it is in scale with the other IM suits. Yet all of a sudden people are complaining about the heights. There are variations in the suits in the movies, I am sure Hot Toys did their research and have had the size of the figure signed off by multiple companies involved with the licensing.

Look at the Mark III comparison shots a few pages back, they are the same height. I don't get the big deal...

As you can see in this photo the Mark 3 and Mark 4 are the same height, I don't remember anyone commenting on how short the Mark 4 is.

It's all matter of perspective

I don't know why you are so upset over a $300 doll.

This isn't some rare collectable recreated my master artisans in limited numbers. It's a mass produced action figure that is LIGHT YEARS ahead of what used to be cutting edge.
I saw that pic. I don't care for it since all the Armors are the same height. Like you said it's perception. I'm upset it's not in scale.

And $300 is a lot of money dude
I'd love to see those side by side or the new diecast with the old MkIII.

By the way are we sure the legs and waist aren't extended on the War Machine figure? If so, that would throw off the height difference a lot.

I've been meaning to take more pics but haven't gotten the time to do it yesterday.

It all comes down to how you are using the mark III I suppose. If you want it to make a mashup of figures to make an Avengers display thats one thing. In a Hall of Armor or a gantry display this thing is absolutely perfect. Hot Toys did not change the height as the other 4 suits that were made.

I have never heard anyone ***** about the Mark II being short only how awesome of a armor it is, funny this is such a big issue for people now. I would much rather have this than any other previous mark in my HOA.

The Mark III BD is utter trash. Looks like another Mark suit had its way with it on Prom night with its bowed legs, Pin Head, skinny waist and giant torso gap.

I posted it back 4 pages or so.

looks like the same height as the previous versions, I suspect some of the pics of the MkIII with newer IM figures like War Machine and Mk43 have their torso's and legs extended and thus exaggerating the actual difference.

All these pictures are showing the good and bad about this figure. The shoulders gaps don't bother me as people have been able to hid them with the shoulder pads. The ab and waist articulation being zero is an annoyance, but still not a deal breaker for me. However these ,ore recent pictures of him with other more recent avengers is killing my excitement to get this figure :FREAK:

I'm ment to pay the last payment weeks end and should have the fugure next week, but now I don't know. The hieght really is gonna bug the crap outta me! I only want one classic looking Iron man and I was sure this was gonna be it, now I'm bummed out.

Dose anyone know if the Mark VI looks short next to newer avengers figures or dose it scale in better? Was going to buy that armour before I ordered the mark III.

If it's the same height as the BD I'll stop complaining, I always thought the BD was the in scale with the original 7. I need to see it in person tho, these pics make me feel like there some distortion going on.

I got the Mark 6. I can take a couple comparison pics next to Avengers and AoU Cap and Widow

There is no distortion. It's exactly as short as it looks in the pics I posted. If you have Coulson, add a fourth of an inch and there you go.

Like folks have been saying, depends on how you want to display him. By himself or in a weapons stance would work, but in a lineup with other Avengers he looks tiny. There is a difference in size and yes it is immediately noticeable. Such a fantastic looking figure but a few months from now I don't know if I could look at the shelf and be satisfied with how small he looks. Makes me hope the 43 lasts until Spook and gets a discount.

I think a lot of people are freaking out way too fast. There is information showing the new diecast MKIII is the same height as the old MKIII while there are also pictures with the diecast MKIII with figures like War Machine making him look shorter. I suspect WarMachine has his waist and legs extended (a feature added to improve articulation but can also make him taller). As for Captain America, the AOU Cap is significantly taller than the First Avenger Cap, so that figure is taller too (not IM getting shorter)

I'm just gonna go out and say all mark 2's and 3's are out of scale :lol

That is your right to do so.:duff

The height thing is nothing new over the last year or two. HT started this with the new Superman MOS that came out and was like 8 feet tall, shortly thereafter the dark world Thor came out and it was towering over everything. After that, people are now jumping with measuring sticks and trying to real world measure and micro analyze every figure height, weight, shoe size.

I agree these figures are expensive, but would you rather have this Mark III or the other crap that was already out there? I am not a HT apologist, but this suit has been getting a "Dogpile on the rabbit" from the start of the fused waist (Which is the greatest tragedy to me) wrong color, lack of die cast to now the flavor of the day, the height. It is an improvement and if I did not have it in the collection I would still be happy to have one now.

Agreed by himself sure. Good looking.

But I display mine in a big lineup and that'll height will bug me.

Makes me wish HTs release a BD DC3 :lol
