Why is this myth still being presented as fact.

The parts that make up the Mark 3 Construction armor and the Mark 3 Die Cast armor could not possibly be interchangeable, nor could they have came from the same molds.

I find this interesting. Has there been a detailed comparison between the two?

Odd reasoning to not get such an awesome figure

How exactly is that odd reasoning for me NOT to get it?

It is downright stupid that he is that short. Plain and simple.

He is TALLER THAN Captain America in every shot when in his armor.

When I was bringing this up, I am not telling anyone they are right or wrong if they want to buy this Mark III or not.
What I AM saying is that he is out of scale. There is no denying that.

Looking at this picture not only is IM in the foreground making him appear taller look at where his feet come down to compared to Cap, it's like he standing on a box. It's clear that they try to make IM look a bit taller than Cap with camera angles and the use of CG, but it takes some work.

I don't think anybody can help you with that, its totally personal preference.
yup.

For example, if I was making an Avengers display, I would go for the VII. It is first movie accurate, and I think it looks better than the 43.
I like the VII better too, I don't have either, but would pick up the VII on a re-release in a second.

Mark III is more iconic in terms of a classic Iron Man look, but as the figures are based on the movies, I personally go for movie looks and III was scrap by the time the Avengers rolled around.
I went with the classic comic look for all my Marvel characters, not really collecting "Avengers" but Marvel characters which feels (to me) the most iconic. In addition to the MKIII on order I have AOU Cap, Avengers Hulk, Rami Spiderman, X-Men 3 Wolverine, and AOU Thor on pre-order.

I doubt the height would be noticeable unless you are a straight line, museum pose kinda guy. Even then, only if you already knew about it. 43 is an awesome figure too though, so I don't think you will be disappointed with either.
yea, I am sure there is a way to figure out a way to minimize the height difference even with museum poses, they don't all have to be in a straight line. But if that's how you want them and the height bothers you go with the 43, they are both beautiful pieces for sure.

Pick whichever you prefer, like I said, there isn't a wrong or right choice, just whatever you like most.
Sometimes the hardest thing in this is trying to figure out what we like best when we are forced to pick between figures for whatever reason.

There was, but the mods deleted the posts due to the combative nature thru which I delivered the information. In hind sight I should not have responded but when someone posts blatantly false information about my military service I get a bit "combative"

The Mark 3 Construction Armor was designed as a static, non-articulated armor that has a central control/power panel in the chest. All of the extremities including the chest arc reactor (which is a separate compoment, are designed so the wires from the light
can be routed through the armor and plugged into the control panel. There are no battery boxes molded into the upper arms, head or back. The back panels are designed to be glued to the main back panel, there is no hinge system for the panels, not even for show.

The Mark 3 Die Cast Armor was designed to be articulated. The head and arms are connected to the torso via molded sockets that do not exist on the Construction version. All of the lights have battery boxes and internal structures to mount the switches to and they are molded into the extremities. The Back panels are more complicated and the hinge system is molded into each part.

I own both figures and I have completely disassembled the Construction version, yet I have people that own neither calling me stupid for saying they didn’t come from the same molds.

Two Reasons

1. Unless you plan to display your figures at eye level in a perfectly upright museum pose you will hardly notice

2. 99.9% of the population that will actually see these figures won’t even know the difference between a Mark 3 and a Mark 4

A few height comparisons... He's taller than Coulson at least.

I have to admit even though the height issue doesn't even make me blink when it comes to me wanting MKIII I am a little disappointed that War Machine seems so much taller. I'd love to see some poses of these two together which masks that some.

C'mon... seriously. This picture right here sums up this figure. That looks ridiculous.

There is absolutely NO REASON Hot Toys could not have addressed this issue in the year and a half
since it was originally shown.

1. Most of us do stand the figures next to each other, and a lot of the pics posted of displays
have them in museum poses. Again, looking above at War Machine next to this... hardly noticeable my ***.

2. 99.9% of the population would say... "who the hell cares what Mark it is, it is Iron Man and he is TOO SHORT".

To be honest, I wouldn't have ordered if I knew it was gonna be that noticeable. I would've been happy with my BD MKIII

That's what I mean... Boba Debt is acting like it is no big deal for a $300.00+ figure. :slap

Hot Toys cut plenty of corners on this one, and it shows. Lack of diecast, reused parts,
exchangeable torso piece instead of figuring out the correct articulation for the torso.
And the biggest one, the scale!!

I am a huge Hot Toys fan. They hit tons of home runs, but this one is a COMPLETE SWING AND MISS.

"slight" is right, there isn't that much knee bend or ab crunching though... I wonder if in some of the other pictures the waist and legs were extended? I don't have the the 42 or 43 but I know my MkII War Machine can get taller if I extend his waist and I can extend his legs to give him more articulation too.

A few pages back I posted with the Mk43 in various torso/leg configurations-

Here's a couple really quick and dirty pics

As you can see in this photo the Mark 3 and Mark 4 are the same height, I don't remember anyone commenting on how short the Mark 4 is.

It's all matter of perspective

I don't know why you are so upset over a $300 doll.

This isn't some rare collectable recreated my master artisans in limited numbers. It's a mass produced action figure that is LIGHT YEARS ahead of what used to be cutting edge.

I'd love to see those side by side or the new diecast with the old MkIII.

By the way are we sure the legs and waist aren't extended on the War Machine figure? If so, that would throw off the height difference a lot.
