Um... I could ask you the same question on why you are so upset over the Mark III vs. Mark III Constructable Version
that you decided to make a whole thread about it.

Because that is about people posting blatantly false information, some of which are doing it in an attempt to make hot toys look lazy and or greedy.

Maybe I'll keep an eye out for folks wanting the exclusive version, if I'm lucky maybe I can sell and get the 43. I only need one IM for my Avengers lineup, and I don't want him to seem tiny in comparison.

Wouldn't you say they're being lazy now because the height is wrong and they were to lazy to do their homework and actually look up the right height.

look up the right height?? :slap As I said before I bet the height various between films and probably even in the same film from scene to scene. The movies cheat height all the time from shot to shot just to get an image they like and with all the CG work in Iron Man I am sure it's even more so. You can want the figure taller, I'd like it a bit bigger too, but HT isn't being "lazy" by not looking up the "right" height.

How is it not lazy to basically take the plastic AU version, tweek it a little bit,
add in 10% diecast parts, market it as DIECAST and charge over $300 for it?

I have no answer for the percentage of Diecast, but as for reusing molds like the AU version (if that's what they did) that's not lazy, it's a smart business practice that tries to reuse what is reasonable to reuse. Why should they make a new mold adding to the cost of production unnecessarily when they have one that works?

Stealing your Pic Rocbolt. :)

You can see he was in the same ilk, same size as the MKII. But the mark III is beefier and thicker, so they are not a stright pull from those moulds. The aero fins are different and the legs are thicker front to back. A back to back shot would show this difference better obviously.

I think if anything they used Mk2AU as a starting point instead of starting over, thus you get the similar height and inner detail of the articulated torso instead of a complete overhaul like it probably could have used

Doing it to make hot toys look bad? Blatantly false? Just becuase its not what you think doesn't make it blatantly false. You have not proved anything, so blatantly false is incorrect term. Blatantly false would be to say something like "no mold makes it through even one production run..let alone reused". That's easy to disprove. That is posting "blatantly false" information. The other is just posting information you disagree with.

As for them being lazy by reusing parts..i agree with you. It's not lazy. Lazy is doing nothing and sitting on your butt. Maybe posting on a forum when you should be at work or school. Lazy is not making a choice, a good business one, then creating a figure. If they change the height, reuse the tooling, or make new tooling they still have to do the same things. The only thing they skipped was sending out or over to the machine shop to get new tooling made. They still have to make the parts, paint and assemble them. Exactly the same as they have to do with a new tooled figure. It may create less work for one guy. And even then I doubt it. It just means they can make other figures. It's not like they are not working on 30 or 40 other figures at the same time.

You're taking my comment out of context, I'm not saying HTs is being lazy

The diecast thing is marketing. It's good business. Why on earth people continue to care about diecast is a mystery to me. It's not better in any way. It's heavy. Lol if some fool falls for diecast and they tack more money on that's smart business. Not lazy. Making a choice to go one way over the other is not lazy.

Thanks for the clarification :)

yup, I don't care about diecast, but if that's what it takes for HT to make another run at making figures I've missed then I am happy about it.

The height thing is nothing new over the last year or two. HT started this with the new Superman MOS that came out and was like 8 feet tall, shortly thereafter the dark world Thor came out and it was towering over everything. After that, people are now jumping with measuring sticks and trying to real world measure and micro analyze every figure height, weight, shoe size.

That's why I mentioned Captain America, I have the First Avenger and when I got Age of Ultron Cap I was surprised that he was taller. After hearing about Thor and IM it looks like they decided to make the whole line a bit taller. I just figured they thought they could give them better proportions with an added bit of height. They look good, I love the AOU Cap, I just don't pose him right next to my other one.

I agree these figures are expensive, but would you rather have this Mark III or the other crap that was already out there? I am not a HT apologist, but this suit has been getting a "Dogpile on the rabbit" from the start of the fused waist (Which is the greatest tragedy to me) wrong color, lack of die cast to now the flavor of the day, the height. It is an improvement and if I did not have it in the collection I would still be happy to have one now.

:exactly::goodpost: I don't have a MKIII and I am very happy to get this figure :)

So they used the MKII as a starting point, makes sense to me :)

"Lazy" is probably not the best word. The point is, Hot Toys is constantly improving each new release.
Making new strides in articulation, new headsculpts, better paint application, etc.

To me, there should have been more involved in bringing the Mark III into the DIECAST product line.
At the very least, fix the height. One step better, find a way to redo the torso w/articulation.
Everything else looks fine and on model with the suit that is on screen.

IMO, the diecast Mark 43 is a much sturdier figure than any of the plastic counterparts.
I have never felt like I was going to break that figure since I received it.
Every time I moved air flaps or wrist pieces on the Mark IV, VI, VII... Parts would fall off,
once or twice something broke. The plastic armors feel more delicate than the diecast models.
With so many parts and pieces in it, I prefer a figure that has a little more stability to it.

So they used the MKII as a starting point, makes sense to me :)

Well hot toys made corrections to the rest of the first avenger lineup. They made Rescue and SSM have longer ankle pegs and suggested to put those onto the TFA cap.
