I'm getting what wofford is saying. Crows sculpt has this really really really small errors. I think in-hand it isn't noticeable, but i too can see that the right side looks flatter than the left side PLUS look at those ears. It's always the right side which looks flatter and the ears too.

Mhmh, I really have played with the idea of buying Bats this week or so, but now, I'll really wait now.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I still see that he is oh so slightly crosseyed... No seriousely..... Lol
well I look at the above picture and I see slight difference on the two sides enough to think that is still not 100% straight as everything on one side seems less exposed. At this zoom level it is hard to get it straight and then there is the oh so slightly diff lighting on each side. Depending on what camera you use... If it's not a DSLR it's almost impossible to aim 100% straight through the viewfinder. I think this looks fine

this reminds me sooooo much of the panick around DX01 during the same
phase.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

What the hell is on the cowl. Is that a paint error, scuff mark or something else?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I don't think he's cross eyed, from what I've seen, like with Joker, the position and level of shadow can throw off where the eyes seem to be looking and make it look goofier. The PERS eyes seem to have much whiter whites than the painted ones which seem a little more greyish, so the extra contrast plays into things too. I thought Joker might be a little off with the eyes from some photos, but then in hand I came to find it's lighting and with Joker, the openings of his eyes aren't equal so depending on position it can seem like his eyes aren't in sync but they really are.

I agree, I can see it too, and it's interesting what Maulfan said about HT Batman figures always having a slightly shorter left ear - but looking at cr0w's photo the 'really really really small error' is so small that it's irrelevant to me. It's there, but it doesn't bother me. Sure, the bigger errors are unacceptable, and I'm glad I didn't buy one last week as I nearly did.

But what Hot Toys should do is address this problem directly asap, so that people can be reassured that
a) Any badly defective heads will be replaced in a timely and trouble free manner, no matter where you live in the world.
b) Future batches will not have this problem.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

It passes through a customs check but doesn't get held up, I get Toys2 stuff in Massachussetts usually within about 5 days, pretty quick, and I'd think you'd have a similar response time. My stuff shows up from them through UPS. I'm not sure but I think people who report things getting held up with customs are usually like the postal service or something like that which probably runs slower but UPS, FedEx, those guys seem pretty quick even with customs.

Thanks for the info man.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I've noticed people saying they don't like the new armor shinier than the v1, but I think, at least from photos, it looks nicer, especially those latest shots from crow, looks more like the material in the film than matte rubber like the v1.

I feel the same.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

I love the contrast it brings between the plating and the suit 'underneath'.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

crow's rubber suit is perfect and the ears looks look fine as well. Of course, there might be a slight bit of asymmetrical issues, as these are plastic after all. But looks ace to me.

Heres to hoping that we all get perfect ones that are like crows':peace

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Looking at the bright side of the peeling issue, if it does happen atleast the underlaying surface is black and matte. I hope it could be rubbed off thoroughly and I'll finally have a matte batsuit and not the shiny finish of the silicone paint.

Something like my fridge when I first bought it, it had these protective plastic film all over that peels overtime and eventually had to be removed.

Hell, looking at the pictures of the peeling paint, and looking at how shiny the "mesh" is underneath the armor plating on the body suit, I'd say underneath it is fairly shiny as well. Maybe even more so, if it's all the same material.

Damn, at least the underlaying material is black. I may peel mine completely if it happens. Anyway, I think that silicone paint will have a bad effect on the batsuit overtime, if it's made of rubber. The paint may have a chemical reaction and cause the suit to crack after several years. Anyway, I'm speaking too soon...

I was actually trying to make a point and make something out of nothing :rotfl

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Woah, are they actually separate? :rock

No. From what I can tell it's the same as v.1.

It's just that it looks like they're separate. While the v.1 sort of blended too much.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

Well after looking at Crows photos guys they are like 97% perfect a margin because of lens aberration....
common seriously, I know some of other photos were warped looking and that very well may be a defective curing issue from it either being pulled from the mold before it set properly or something else. Also it is PVC i have similar issues with my HT Wolverine already nothing big but it needs to be noted and i have HT already on it. The way I look at it we are only gonna get 100% if it is a bowen statue or something that is static and i know that sucks.

However also please consider lens Aberrations as i am a Professional Photographer I will step in and say that crows pic is nothing more than that by the looks of it, especially if the cameras differ in focal length and
spot metering....all these aspects are called into play

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lens_(optics)#Aberrations

and qoute

"Lenses do not form perfect images, and there is always some degree of distortion or aberration introduced by the lens which causes the image to be an imperfect replica of the object. Careful design of the lens system for a particular application ensures that the aberration is minimized. There are several different types of aberration which can affect image quality"

That said alot of things can play into the factor of the imagine balance

selah : )

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

It's heavily the slope of the head from chin to the back, if you look where his chin sits relative to his chest/shoulders, it's really not that high off.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS DX 02 - TDK- BATMAN full spec and pics

He's here  This thing is M I N D blowingly good. This is easily a must have, there is not a thing on it, in hand, that any other brand betters. In fact, if i wasn't such a joker fanatic, i would say, if you could only own one HT figure, this is it. That's how impressed i am. It's perfect. And i am actually going out of my way to try and find things wrong with it. About the only thing is, it has the same v1 ????ty cape syndrome, but it actually can be futzed to look pretty decent. No over muscle look, no giraffe neck in hand, pers looks pretty good, and there are SOOOO much extras. All the mouths' are nicely muted realistic expressions, i am actually really enjoying the so called 'baby pout' mouth. THey all look fantastic, the worst thing about the figure is trying to pick which mouth to use LOL, they are all so good. Sonar head (which i thought would look a bit toyish and cheap) looks really really classy, and realistic. Another dislike i suppose, is the way the backback attaches, i don't like it, you clip it into the top of the cape holes, and then press the back end of it down over the back armour, and it slides along it vertically, before clipping under the two big shoulder blade pad spaulder things on the back - i just don't like the way it works, kinda scrapes along the armour on the way down as you push it and its a real tight fit, so you HAVE to push it against it hard to seat it. Just feels like it's going to mark it somehow. No biggy i never planned on using it anyway.
Pics soon everyone
