Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I've never bought a Hot Toys figure before, but I am really wanting this one. Would this be a good first Hot Toys figure for me?

Are you the same Skywarp from 'Christopher Reeve sucked at Superman' blog? If so, then you may be disappointed with this figure. But if you dig on CR Supes, this is a beauty. Red undies have never looked so awesome.

haha, I assure you I am not that person. I am an 80's nerd. The BEST Superman was Christopher Reeve, imo.

I don't think you'll find a better first HT figure our there then :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

He looks like he's trying to pull his pants up.

Yeah, I haven't really seen a good "fists on hips" pose yet...that...and arms folded across the chest...are hard to achieve on TT bodies.

Not a fan of the Mattel suit either. I like the shoulder seams on the HT suit, it gives the figure a broader, more powerful looking presence. The other gives that slump shouldered, Mike Mignola look which I'm not fond of....and it looks funny with the powerful thighs of the TT body.

Don't do it! You'll be hooked and your bank account will never be the same.

I think I got a great fists on hips pose. I suspect they used the promo photos of Reeve as it looks almost idetical.

Can someone explain to me why people are using the crotch stand with this figure? Are you really worried this guy will fall over? He's rock solid! :dunno

Some people just like stands:) It's not all about keeping them from falling over, it's nice to have the name plate and movie logo,my collection is a mix of with and without stands.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

you could always give the mattel suit a try ,its non sparkly and slightly thicker ,its nicely made and fits great even has slightly longer sleeves to cover the wrist joints easyer ,the emblem is nicely intergrated on the suit ,it looks like its part of the suit ,id recomend useing the hot toys trunks ,as they are much better cut ,i used the mattel belt as it matches the yellow of the emblem better ,sorry for the poor photo but it will give you a rough idea ,theres other pics in this thread of amused jester cool bad superman custom useing the mattel suit ,you should defo check them out cheers chris:)

Nice custom if you're on a budget, but the logo looks like ren and stimpy font to me.

Depends on what's below that shelf and what you're going to allow to happen. If it catches anything, well you know the outcome.

How do you know other peoples floors don't or do have a bit of bounce in them... watch that figure tip.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I never use the stand unless its like part of a dio for my Predators or Iron Man and still i keep the crotch stand crap off of those types of bases. I just find that the regular stands detract from the overall presentation.

That Mattel S decal on that suit looks too wide-ish.

I don't mean the base, I mean the stand. I have used bases for the reasons you say without using the stand part.

Well, people need to stop doing jumping-jacks in front of their figures! :lol
