Just a rough guess but I'd say 3-4 grand in figures and this is my first year collecting hot toys. Thinking about it makes me kinda sad but then I look at the collection and think damn those are some cool toys. Monger coming today as well!

Congrats on the Monger Chozo! Mine is to be here next week, and I think Im done for 2013 (unless I can track down a reasonable Two Face or Scarecrow), but I am over $3,700 for this year at thie point :hi5: With another $1,400 on Pre-Order.....

If you got it & can afford to spend it, then why not. I must be well over the ten thousand £ mark by now, been collecting since 2009. Most of the Hot Toys stuff holds or increases in value so its a pretty safe investment imo.

I was just making the point that you should not beat yourself up to much about spending a lot of money on essentially a doll. Especially since they hold their value.

Lol, if I could retire on buying and selling 5 HT figs I could of retired 20 times over by now.

Finally got this guy and have a few things to say about him. First off he's big but his box is deceptively small compared to mech test 2.0. I thought he had to be assembled by the size of the box and was surprised he fit completed just fine. Mine has the cracks a lot of people have said they have but they don't look like they will get worse from a static pose. Mine also had super stiff knees like other people have stated and I almost broke them trying to "break them in":lol Lastly THE GOD DAMN BACK BATTERIES WERE IN THE WORST ****IN POSITION. It took me literally half an hour to get the tab out cause it was jammed. Then the batteries fell out and were a ***** to get back in. All said and done this guy is a beauty and definitely not one to miss if your an iron man freak. He looks amazing towering over my collection and really ties it all together nicely. Hes also super light for his size which makes it easy to move him if needed. Now where the hell is whiplash mk2!?!?

Got my Mark VII today and messed arround with him and Monger:

I'm still having trouble pulling the trigger on this guy. I don't want to plunk down 500 bones for a figure that I will be terrified to move the legs on. I just keep hovering over the confirm order button and thinking twice.

Has anyone had this guy for awhile that actually poses him fairly regularly that can comment on the cracking and if it has gotten worse over time?

I would take the plunge on monger while he is at retail. last I checked, they only had 16 in stock. I still remember when it was 140+.

I hardly ever move my Monger, he is more like a statue, just get him in the right pose and leave. Imo he is very well made, feels really solid.

We all know the sickening feeling of dropping that much coin on a figure (at least the first few times, my stomach sank a bit... now I'm kinda numb to it) but I would definitely recommend picking-up Monger at retail while he is still around. I'm not the hugest Iron Man fan (I have Monger and MILK War Machine) but consider Monger essential. Once you see it in-hand, you'll be glad you picked it up. The spider-line cracks on the thighs have been known about for a long time, now, and no-one has reported it getting worse since it was discovered. I never would've noticed the ones on my Monger if I hadn't been reading this thread at the time and I am quite detail oriented.

Who is this "they" you speak of?
BBTS.

This figure is truly incedible! I know he is expensive but is sooooo worth the price when you get him in hand! :rock

I've had mine for a while now and is holding up just fine. :wink1:

As for the BBTS, they'll probably sell out by X-Mas! Buy him soon or forever regret not doing so! :panic:

I readjusted my shelves last night so Monger could stand next to the other marks.
It meant moving Jake Sully down a spot, which meant moving Bruce Wayne and the armoury into the spot of the Light Cycle, and moving the Light Cycle onto the top of the detolfs. It will all be remedied when my 7 piece HOA arrives.
