It would be incredibly stupid for HT to ignore it and "let it cool down" and focus elsewhere. That's actually some of the dumbest business strategy I've ever heard of. You ever hear the phrase "strike while the iron is hot"? That's exactly what they're doing.

BINGO. I think you are spot on Josh. I personally LOVE the MMS. Primarily because if they weren't making them, we probably would have nothing. I know many would prefer COMIC versions, but again, Movie versions are better than none.

I would like to see a few comic versions of Iron Man especially the bleeding edge armor.

What about the phrase "Flooding the market" soon enough Hot Toys will have so much Iron Man that collectors of that line will have to compete with that same line on which to cancel to afford them all.

Where does it say that you have to collect every single figure of any line you collect? :

Collecting is a luxury, buy what you can afford and enjoy it.

You stated that other lines get ignored for good reasons and they are not so hot, but Tron Legacy was put on hold before the first figure hit the market, and i dont see how other lines can flourish and become profitable if people are expecting them to stop after two figures.

Tron is not comparable to IM, and I am a Tron fan. As for the delay, it's well deserved considering the 1 Tron release HT did that doesn't even address light up suits, which is the very thing tron is known for. Put that line on hold indefinitely until they figure it out.

Ther reason Iron Man is successful is because Hot Toys put time and effort to make it so, same with Batman, Predator and Terminator, yet they are falling back on these too often and will eventually run them down without other lines to backuo onto.

Nope. IM & Batman are FAR more popular characters with decades of rich history compared to your SP girls or MGS4.

For Sucker Punch if Hot Toys said plainly we are gonna make all the girls, then i bet guys who may have skipped Amber would pick her up to complete the Quintet.

Maybe, but who cares? Both SP sculpts are off and the line is niche anyway.

You know what's funny about this question? It's that this Monger was exactly what IM fans have been dreaming about and asking for since day one. Yet here you are knocking HT for doing exactly what you're asking them to do!

I never said one bad thing about Monger.

I'm glad for the fans, especially you, as i know how much you've wanted it.

It's too much for me, i didnt like the character enough for the price.

But as you'll see from my posts my objections to the Iron Man line milking is the lack of variety and it's affect on other lines.

Monger fills two of those

1) we're finally getting some more villains
2) its unique and hasn't been done before

The only character that will really sell in this line is Iron Man or armored figures like Iron Monger. Do they really need to make Tony in every business suit he has? As far as other lines they all have limited # of characters that will sell. Why risk those when they know on of the armors will sell 50x that amount? Also its naive to think just because they make one Iron Man figure that they're not working on something else. Its not like these companies only have 10 workers.

They're just rolling out the MK V, They haven't even released the MK 2 AU or Gantry yet and you're already getting a guaranteed Iron Monger.

But my feelings are they are not taking risks on those lines when they make 2 figures at most and leave them unfinished or even scratched the surface.

Where as the other money-makers are getting 10+ figures and remakes too.

I collect Iron Man myself i've got four figures and the MK V coming yet its getting boring, having a Tony Stark as a cave prisoner would but i want to branch out into other lines, only to find there aren't many expected to reach more than two figures long.

Metal Gear Solid is a grail for me and it saddens me that Hot Toys will likely make 2 figures and retreat back to Iron Man and the others to exhaust most characters and just get started on remakes.

I do think HT should go further into some lines but some lines they just know it won't sell past 2-3 figures. Iron Man, Batman, Etc. will.

I think what makes people upset, when they see Hall of Armor or Gantry is what makes Ironman more deserving than Thor or Cap or even Terminator???

A Loki or Hiemdall or Sif would have sold better than Odin but looks like HT just walked away. Imagine if they had tried to make Odins thrown, they could have broken it up into parts and given them to each figure and let collectors put it together or something

Or they could have made Red skull or Hydra soldier already or the Vita ray chamber. Theres a lot of potential products they could be doing instead of more Ironman

Cap already had 2 figure announcements before the 1st even released, and you're complaining they haven't done 3 more

Hot Toys does make really odd decisions sometimes. Doc Ock, Green Goblin or Venom would've sold much better than New Goblin

Regardless, none of the films/lines you mention hold a candle to the IM franchise at the moment. Terminator got a good run, as did Aliens. Even Terminator Salvation another box office flop got around 4-5 figures
