Since this was their version of "Bizarro" ...

... I can't imagine why the execs didn't like it. Looks like Meatloaf in a Twisted Sister costume. Movie would've been an atrocity either way.

Good old Clive Mantle. As I recall, it was not down to the execs at all. Rather, this was Nuclear Man v1 who was unstable and exploded, or self combusted...or whatever radioactive supermen are wont to do. But I recall that Golan/Globus were such cheapskates that they exorcised this footage so that they could use this as the basis for SM-V.

Thank goodness sanity prevailed.

"Superman IV" was bad in every way. It had huge plot holes, and the hole thing was filled with bad ideas.

Even the special effects didn't look as good as the 1.978 movie.

That's because it was produced by Golan and Globus' Cannon Films, a notoriously cheap B-movie company. The effects were done as cheap as possible making it look shlocky compared to the other films in the series.

Your not wrong I was gunna watch it again out of curiosity but after watching the clips, naaaaaaaaaaaaa that is really poor.

People slate part 3 but I love that film.

and I was thinking"but I like this movie why are they....yeah actually it does have a lot of flaws".
But that being said it is still a good film and the effects were pretty good for the time.

IRC wasn't it something to do with WB giving Golan/Globus $70m to make Superman IV. Which they then sliced into pieces and made 16 other movies from the one budget! Hence the undeveloped and non-cohesive story and budget basement FX work.

At first I wasn't sure about this figure but now I'm kind of changing my mind and may pick it up. Wouldn't mind having the Reeve Superman to go with my Cavill Superman.

This figure is one of my favorite's and has a AMAZING PRESENCE on my shelf never get tired at admiring the 1st release i own. I am very greatful they released another slighty differnt version and helps out the REEVE FOUNDATION so a WIN ! WIN! HE WILL Always will be my favorite SUPERMAN ACTOR.....

Definitely thinking of picking this up. Missed the original release but really like how this looks. Turned out fantastic. The best of the Comic Con 2013 Ex. Definitely debating if I should or not.
