Highlander1 just the second pic is mine. The 1 and 3 are from pizza??

Anyway I think pizza's pics are better to see the actual contrast between both of them.

O.K sorry edited pics to show who's pics is who's ..sorry pizza and gizmo for confusion ,nice pics again...:clap

Just occurred to me, Superman III is basically The Richard Pryor Experience, yet the most recent home video release doesn't even show him on the cover!

Good on them, Take out all his parts and the films is much better, I prefer all the scenes without him with the exception being the scene where 'General' Gus gives Superman the defective kryptonite, kind of need that explanation. Otherwise I tend to block him out when I watch it.

Maybe because Richard Pryor has (sorry, had) a reputation as being a bit of a potty mouth comedian and actor. He was very funny and it suited his material...but good lord the man could swear!! :horror And I suppose that WB did not want to put people off from buying the disc, if that perception lingered in any way? :dunno

I have to say, that was my immediate thought at the time 'Richard Pryor? He swears like a trooper! How will that work in a Superman film?'

I have a soft spot for old Gus.

I thought he was funny in the movie. Should he have been cast in a Superman movie? That wasn't my call to make but growing up and even now Gus always made me laugh.

'Unless he is an utter moron...' Gus driving his flash new car. :rotfl

People remembers Superman III especially for how much they hated seeing him in it, but the movie itself had its moments, at least.

It even features my #2 favorite scene of the whole Reeves Superman saga.... the Superman vs. Clark Kent battle was awesome! I don't care what everybody else thinks about it, to me, it only comes second to the rescue of the helicopter in "Superman The Movie".

That scene alone made the whole movie worth, because what came before, gave it context, and was came later showed a very determined and no-nonsense Superman, that was just great to see.

Has there ever been a 1/6 scale Richard Pryor sculpt? I was thinking the perfect companion piece to this figure would be Pryor in his Army General getup. Any ideas? I really don't want to commission a sculpt for this...

No, please.

I rather have a Clark Kent figure, from that movie. Maybe even a figure of "Metallo-ized" Vera, but no Gus Gorman/Richard Pryor for me. I don't think that's a very good idea, honestly.

It would either be this or a bash with a pink blanket around his shoulders and skis from the scene where he skis off the penthouse roof.... Quite possibly the most riduculous scene in the history of comic-book movie-making!

I agree with you 100%. Well said.

If they can make that joke of a Mandarin figure they might as well go for a Pryor Gus Gorman.

I’ve wanted to bash a stir crazy pryor and wilder so would love a sculpt but not a gus gorman:rotfl
A clark to battle with makes more sense and would look cool with clarks acid wash blazer

:goodpost: I also agree about the Kent fight scene. That is what I remembered most about this film and made the whole thing worth the price of admission.

It really shows just how great SM-III could have been. You could have even kept the same basic story line, but with no tomfoolery or slapstick, no Gus Gorman as he appeared...still a tech genius but not a clown rather a more dark gus who gets discovered stealing but then agrees to build the computer of all computers, make the Websters very chilling indeed, no Pamela Stephenson, make that Clark V Evil Supes the 2nd act conclusion which builds to the Superman V Supercomp conclusion....and definitely no Richard Lester, the man that really killed Superman!!

Another moment of absurdity in Supes III: When the guy is trapped in the flooding car, bystanders coud easily have smashed a window with a heavy object. Instead it takes Supes to fish him out.

Or the driver could have opened the door or sunroof:)
Remember as a kid loving vera the robot the acid the frozen lake and of course
evil superman.
Alot of things like the flooding car and lake could have been done different but not as visually impressive.
He could have used super breath to put out the chemical fire and would have been quicker than flying off and freezing a lake to drop on the plant.
Was just showing off imo.
One bit that always bugged me was the bowling alley scene.
Rickey turns into the terminator smashing the pins with the help of a super sneeze.
They don’t think it a bit of a coincedence clark sneezes at the exact same time and did they have to pay for damages?
Again absurd but love it still
