Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

I'm happy with mine, I plan on messing with it a little bit more.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

Well you know what? Its the stupid TT that is ruining it for me, I need something a hell of alot smaller in the shoulders.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

Looks okay to me. Not as well tailored as the Sat toys suit but certainly not as bad as the typical Sideshow Hefty bag suits.

Won't the suit be too wide for the narrow shoulder True-type? Or in any case if we keep it on a standard true-type in the meantime won't it stretch the suit so that it would then not be a perfect fit on the narrow shoulder version?

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

Just got it. Its not anything to write home about really. The jacket is the same cut and feel as the Clark Kent suits and the shoes are the basic ones they have included with a lot of other figures (or at least it feels that way). The tie is well done, patterning done well but it feels flimsy. The glasses are cheap and easy to ^^^^ up, I already did :lol

I've bought suits from eBay for about this price that have much better tailoring. I'd give it about a 3.5 out of 5. A narrowed shouldered TT will definitely benefit this much more.

See thats what I was saying, the overall quality of the suit works but its not "Hot Toys" worthy. Their Harvey Dent and BR Joker suits were much better imo.

Its by no means bad but again nothing close to great.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

It reminds me of the Clark Kent suit more than anything newer.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

Doesn't sound good at all, Mike.

I got these for $68 shipped. Sounds like these thing is worth $20 shipped from the way you guys are putting it.

But how come these things are still selling like hot cakes though?

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

I just dont understand how an actual hot toys product can turn out this bad. It's just crazy in my eyes. The coat not fitting is one thing, they do say it is made to fit the new slim shoulders truetype, the collar of the shirt looking so bad and not functioning is just sloppy, but how can the pants of all things fit so bad? They don't even pull over his ass all the way and because of that, even with the belt, they stick straight out in the back, making the back of the coat bunch up.

I've put Sideshow, Triad, Enterbay, Store-Rooms, random underground figure pants all o a truetype and that body makes every single one of them look AMAZINGLY better than it did on the actual figure it came on.

How can an actual Hot Toys product fit so bad in the pants? I just don't understand :(

I'm considering the Enterbay Palmer suit. It's the same color minus the pinstripes.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

Yeah i'd easily agree with you, aside from the football player TT being the main issue the suit still has a weak look to it. I just wish we could have seen some kind of prototype before we committed back in the day.

Its an Iron Man product even if its sold generically.

Here are some really quick and blurry shots compared to a suit bought from eBay for half the price (including shipping)

I want to know what Mooncat did to futz with it because I couldn't get the collar to lay straight or even the jacket to fit like his did. I'll definitely get a narrow body to see if it works better but I have my doubts. The eBay jacket IS too small obviously but the overall fit of it is more natural than Tony's. It holds its shape nicelt even though there are three layers and the Stark suit is over one. I like the look but its slightly too expensive IMHO.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

I've managed to make the collar with tie look a bit better, you just need to keep messing with this thing. There is nothing you can do about the jacket, the TT is way too big.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

That's probably the route I'll go as well... use the regular for now, but plan to upgrade once a the next body is released. It would also be nice if the TT came with more hand options. I really don't like the look of the relaxed hands... they just look off to me.

TT hands are bendable :joy

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

I just recieved my suit. I like it. Sure it could be better, but I still like it. It fits in nicely between the Mark II and III.

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

HT is following Hedi Slimane's step in the fashion industry. Re inventing how a man's suit should fit; slim and tapered. Skinny, anorexic look is 'in'.

LOL :D

Re: HT Tony Stark Suit

I ended up using the Saturday Toys suit for mine on a TT. I also used the red shirt from the Sideshow Duncan MacLeod figure. Eventually I'll want to swap out the body with one of the upcoming smaller shouldered TTs.
