I just like Staal though. All around good player and great guy. In all, I'm really looking forward to the season starting back up later this year. Need to get the bad taste out of my mouth from that 1st round loss to the Flyers.

Tough year for my Pittsburgh teams. The Steelers with their 1st round play-off loss to the Broncos, and the Pen's losing in the 1st as well.

I can't complain too much, though. I did watch both of them recently bring a title home in the same year. :yess:

Exactly! We should look at what has happened recently. These are good things to look at. I am so happy we won our Cup in '09. I would like to see another one soon. I just think both of my teams flubbed their picks, especially considering what fell to them, and the fact they had picks back-to-back at No. 8 and No. 9. Washington were the big winners in the first round, with Buffalo and Pittsburgh being a close second. 2a and 2b. Love that Buffalo got Grigorenko (a Malkin clone) and Ceci. I mean, I love what they were able to land at that point in the draft.

Grigorenko was the 1b to Yakupov's 1a for the first few months of the past season. All of a sudden, Grigs has a poor playoffs. It's attributed to him being a lazy Russian with poor work ethic, and he goes from being potential 1st overall talent, to out of the top 15 in most mock drafts. It was found out he had mono in the playoffs, yet the kid still played. That's a champ imo. Oh, and of course there is the whole rumour that went around that Grigs was not 18, but 20. So he lied on his age. Apparently a lot of baseball player prospects from the Dominican Republic lie about their ages when they come over.

Either way, it's all speculation and hearsay until proven to be fact. I like those three teams and what they did in the draft. Edmonton deserves no credit. They won the lottery (again for a third time) and took the BPA, so yeah...

Easy there! :lol

So many people say the past doesn't count, even stuff in the very recent past. But those people saying that are usually the ones whose team hasn't won crap- recently OR in the distant past. :rotfl

Of course, like your Badmoons... Sorry Keith, I went there. Actually, I am not sorry. But yes, people will always use an argument like that when their team hasn't done anything for a while. Doesn't matter what they think, but what we think and feel. I am happy that my team won a Cup in 2009. It gives us that reassurance and feeling that we have a team that can do it again. We definitely put ourselves in the driver seat with this trade. Errrr, well, could have really done it if we had taken Forsberg! If we land Parise... I'll say Shero can do no wrong. :)

Pens just need consistency around the net, and in it. They have the offense to out-shoot anyone in the NHL.

Finally, a deal that I can be happy about! Leafs get JVR, sending Schenn to the Flyers.

Good job Burky! :rock

Yea, i'm happy for Schenn going to Philly..dude could not stand Phaneuf behind closed doors and i don't blame him for it.

JVR is a decent pick up for the Leafs but, i think maybe Philly won this trade, only time will tell and hopefully inujuries don't plague JVR's time with the Leafs.

But you said Schenn sucks? Now it's a win for Philadelphia? :dunno

Do I sense some bipolar thinking here? :lol

Philly won that trade??? The Leafs ripped them off, Schenn blows, he was a turn over disater last year. Not sure how hating Phaneuf made him play like trash.

May I remind you what the Flyers did to Pens recently in the playoffs? Beat them and made them show their piss poor sportsmanship to boot. So yeah please go there. :lol

Both players didn't play up to club expectations but, i think both clubs got what they very much need at this time though this could hurt Toronto more on the back end and even out Philly's depth between offence and defence.

Toronto still needs to land a #1 centerman and a proven goaltenter if they want to make some noise next season and those pieces are not going to come cheap.

i just think this is why Philly got a potentially better deal here, JVR had some nasty injuries that kept him a good chunk of last season but, hopefully he's Joffery Lupul 2.0 next season.

Well at least we got rid of Monster (or lack of)...a step forward! Choir boy should be next.

What is Choir boy?

And he looks up and prays to his Lord after each win. XD
