Ill just say, not me. I dont put Brodeur #1. For me, atleast in my lifetime Dominik Hasek was the best goalie I have ever seen.
Brodeur is definitely Top 5 greats of all time but I like Hasek. Brodeur benefited a lot in the NJ system because they just squashed teams defensively. They played the trap game all those years and no one could score on them. But Brodeur is an extremely talented goalie. One of the best ever handling the puck. But I like Hasek better. Much more athletic, played on Buffalo most of his career and put up ridiculous numbers. He had the SV% record until Thomas broke it. And Hasek won his Cup with Detroit. He made some of the most amazing saves i have ever seen.
I don't like WINS for goalies because if the team is great, the goalie wins. Kind of like a Pitcher in Baseball can win 20+ games, but not have many strikeouts & a high ERA, like Bob Welch of the Oakland A's back in the 90s went 27-6....And also like Chris Osgood won tons of games, but would u consider him an elite goalie? He played for Detroit and any goalie with Detroit will win tons of games. He was good goalie, but not an elite.
Fleury is good, he is one of the better goalies in the NHL, but he kind of floats around near the top 5 of best goalies. I can't put him #2 behind Thomas. Just no way. Actually wasn't he in the dog house like 1 or 2 seasons ago in Pitt?
Don't take it too personal, WE all root for our Home Teams of course. We all support our guys. Nothing wrong with expressing our opinions.
