As much as I bash Flower, thank god the Pens arent stuck with Ilya Bryzgiveuplotsofgoals, man he sucks

And the Leafs were despicable against the Canucks tonight...do I smell a trade dumping Schenn? Yep. He was horrible tonight.

Flyers 2 to 1. :lecture

HAHA! Only show up when your Flyers are up. btw How did that game end, and where were you? Hmmm....

Also, two short handed goals against you guys in that game and Cooke registered 2 goals... Man, you must be royally annoyed by that!

GO PITTSBURGH GO!!! :rock

I won't be here on Sunday night. Going to see Landeskog, Stastny, and the rest of the boys on Colorado in person. Jets make it 3 wins in a row! Have fun! :wave

Fleury sucks? Here's to you Flower Trolls.........

Nuff' said. :rock

Guy has 30 wins for a reason, and every goalie (just as any player) will have lapses. You know better. Yes, he has a great team in front of him, but he makes the big saves that are needed to keep us in games. Sometimes his defense hangs him to dry.

As for our labels, you guys are more-so the troll variety vs. the sack label you gave me, because I am simply only there in defense of the guy. To be honest I never said he is the best goalie out there. Or even top 5. I simply came to his defense, which has been a lot I admit because he gets far too much negative criticism his way from you and the Craw, which isn't warranted. He isn't going to win a Vezina any time soon, but he was the 4th or 5th fastest to 200 wins by a goalie. He's been to the show twice and has won a Cup for us. He stole that game for us that led to the Cup victory. He keeps our team honest and has been quite capable in his end, putting us near the top each year in the standings. That has to count for something. In the end, you guys are repetitive, and this song and dance is a long-winded and boring one.

Find a new whipping boy. Hey, how about someone who deserves it this season, like I dunno... Tyler Kennedy or Paul Martin? If you guys actually really followed the Pens games and watched closely, you would see those guys have not been exactly stellar for us.

Or better yet, simply don't chew on your own team's players. Be a fan, which is supporting your players and rooting them on. Not tearing them a part. Being a fan should be constructive and positive. As hard as that is to set out and accomplish it is something that should be done, as the true definition and meaning of a fan, is to like something and have an appreciation for it.

Things I would love to see from this thread and its participants. Basically I would like less discussion and focus on certain players and to have us move on to something else. It makes for more engaging discussions when it's not the same-old jargon of player X. Lets shake things up! Variety is the spice of life. There are players all throughout the alphabet to discuss.

1. Lets slow down on the Slewban rants, as there are far too much discussion of the player. Unwarranted since there are several hundred NHLers employed. Are we that narrow-minded or obsessive compulsive in nature we have to constantly focus on one guy out of several hundred?

2. Enough of the Flower bashing. Seriously, we get it. You don't like te guy. But _____ing about it won't change the fact he's Pittsburgh's starter.

3. Continue on the Leaf's Stanley Cup drought discussion. It's always fun and it puts Valfar and xjamiex in their places. hehe

Neal signs 6 yr extension!!!!

5 million hit per year.

Great job by Shero on a long term deal for a possible 40-45 goal scorer!!

Really nice signing. Like you said, a nice cap hit for what's looking like a 40-45 goal scorer. We got our top goal scoring winger who compliments are scoring centermen and his age is right up there with Crosby and Malkin's. Which means he fits in perfectly in our offensive plans of today and tomorrow. :clap

LOL People complaining on the HF boards at the contract numbers. Like 4.5 to 4.75 (which quite a few wanted/expected) is much of a difference from the 5 million he got. These are the same fans that bellyached over not having a young big-time scoring winger for their two franchise centermen, and when they finally are rewarded, they _____ about the deal? Would you rather we sign a Scott Gomez type that under performs and gets 7.5m? Geez people. Just be happy! :)

THIS FRIGGING ROCKS! Cammalleri is getting paid 6 million and look how bad he's been. So many examples we can use of guys doing half of what Neal has and will do for the Pens today and into the future. This deal is the definition of bargain bin buy!

Neal is a great player but, i doubt he will be a consistent 40-45 goal scorer, Eli you need to release the throttle a little there excite bike. XD

I'd say he's maybe good for 20 or maybe 30 on a 2nd line for the Pens per season if he stays healthy.

I don't know, he was fairly consistent in Dallas with "decent" centers. Playing consistently on a line with Malkin (even leaving Crosby out of the equation) I don't think he will have a problem reaching that total. Time will tell, but at first glance I like the deal. If he was a UFA he would be pulling 6+.

Oh no. I agree. One thing I am not, is disillusioned. You know better to question me there. I am a realist. That's why we say potential and not he IS a 40-45 goal scorer. He has to get that 40-45 goals first to even get that label. Also, if it's one thing the NHL, especially the NHL of the past 15 years has told us, is that nobody consistently gets 40-45 goals year-in and year-out. Not even the best goal scorer during that period, Alex Ovechkin!

Having said all of that, Neal should or could hit 40 goals multiple times in several years (this season and the following 6 extended years). Keeping in mind that's if he's healthy and he has a healthy Malkin and/or Crosby feeding him the puck.

And those are the delusional fans you need to ignore. If he was hitting the open market as a UFA he would be sitting at 6 mil easy. He will be 29 I believe when that deal ends and after playing 6 years with either malkin or crosby if he really wants to cash in he will have the numbers to do it then. But, long story short, 5 mil per is a deal for both him and the pens. We just signed our rick nash for 6 yrs.

:lecture This! He scored 24 goals as a 21-year-old rookie, and followed it up with 27 at 22. He didn't play with the two best centermen in the known hockey universe either at the time. Neal is an opportunistic player who is also very complementary to his play-making centerman. He has always been great in long runs, and consistency has been his one knock. That seems to be corrected this year. Mostly due to his environment and age. Guy has one of the heaviest wristers and slappers around. He has good speed for a bigger man and knows how to pilot himself in the right areas.

I think it's very realistic to believe he can get a few 40-plus goal seasons in the next several years. At the end of this contract, he'll be 32. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Perhaps you need to stop Morgan Freeman Jessica Tandy's ass and put the pedal to the metal Valfar. ;)

Uhh, there is a kid from a town called Markham 20mins away from me who played in the GTHL..Steven Stamkos, heard of him?. XD

Stamkos will go four in a row 40+ goal seasons in the NHL for sure, maybe more.
