Wow Eli, you've certainly been busy in this thread...I don't even know where to start :lol

Regarding Slewban- even though there are hundreds of players in the NHL, he has to be one of the dirtiest. He is nothing short of a clown with verbal diarrhoea who thinks he is the greatest NHL defenseman ever. Quite frankly, I'm surprised his giant ego hasn't slewfooted him yet. I definitely won't stop bashing his candy ass.

Regarding Geno vs. Stamkos- I like these guys A LOT, and they are hard to compare. They are both having phenomenal seasons, but I think Geno has been the harder worker especially with Crosby out of the lineup. Everybody is looking to Geno to carry the Pens right now and he is. At least in Stamkos' case he has a lot of talent to work and play with, i.e. St. Louis and Lecavalier.

Regarding the Neal deal, I can see both sides of the argument but I like him a lot and he is still very young. I can see him having a very promising and consistent career with the Pens, especially if he plays with Geno.

Regarding the Leafs- Okay sure, it's fun to bash Toronto lulz lulz but it's silly to not even consider the idea that the Leafs could make the playoffs this year. Look how tight it is in the East and the Leafs are still holding onto a playoff place. And there is still a great possibility that we could deal for Nash. It's not like the Leafs only have 40 points.

So you want me to switch to Leaf bashing? Ok. How about those canadian fans who always wanna see their teams in the WC. Then they say "who would you rather see, Carolina vs Nashville?? Well looks like Nashville is seated pretty good in the Playoff run right now while the Leafs are just about ready to fall off the board and miss the Playoffs again for like the 10th year in a row. So who would i rather watch in a WC? Probably a contender.

The Winter Classic is only one game out of 82 in a season. Leafs games are always very exciting to watch and I can guarantee you'll be watching it next year vs. Detroit and enjoying it.

They werent to exciting last night or last Saturday...

i think thats everyone outside of Toronto's problem, only Leafs fans want to see the Leafs.

As for the WC, I only want to see the Leafs in it for 24/7 if there even is one, as Burky and Ron would be classic. but if there is no 24/7, who gives a ____ about the Leafs except for Ontario? Sure there are fans accross Canada, but that could be said for any Canadian Team

Glad to see the thread is alive thanks to a good old MAF debate :yess:

What do you mean by this term?

There will be a 24/7 for sure, the audiences for that were growing bigger and bigger as each episode aired on HBO.

Being from Toronto, did I expect Leafs to be in the Winter Classic? Absolutely not, I was surprised. But when it comes down to it, Toronto has one of the biggest hockey markets and fan bases in the NHL, if not the biggest. They are also an original six team. The same can be said for Detroit. This will be the biggest WC in history because of these two rich hockey markets coming together. Toronto could be first place next season and Detroit could be last, it doesn't matter. It will be a great game no matter what.

That is a racist term. I'm not shocked coming from a guy who thought it was appropriate to throw a banana peel on the ice when P. K. Subban appears. I called you out on it earlier in this thread and you never responded. Your "nappy" term is racist. At least I know who you are now.

Regarding Don Imus, he was fired for using that term.

IMUS: "That's some nappy-headed hos. I'm gonna tell you that now, man, that's some—whew. And the girls from Tennessee, they all look cute, you know, so, like—kinda like—I don't know."

I don't know what's worse. Your post or that you tried to back yourself up with that video thinking it's not racist.

:lol It wasn't meant in a racist context, but I edited it regardless. At least I know who you are now, and no wonder Eli put you on his ignore list. Consider yourself on mine now too :wave

Getting back to more pressing discussion, I'm still shocked over the Kubina trade...I'm not sure why Phili would of wanted him. I guess they considered him a "playoff" D-man of the sorts with Pronger out of the lineup. They should of gone for Schenn though and given the Leafs JVR :D

I guess the racist is a coward too. (not you Eli)

Maybe he was trying to dodge another banana peel? :lol

I suggest some of you try giving Junior hockey some needed attention. The kids in the CHL pretty well skate at a next to pro level...there's tons of fights, and tons of grit.

There's isnt any of this political mumbo jumbo or "market pride media" BS either. I can't stand the Leafs cuz they don't win and the media machine behind them...is useless hot air.

Way more passion in a junior game than there is on the entire Leafs roster...and this wont change anytime soon. :lol

You're right, Junior hockey is awesome. So is the OHL and CHL. But "market pride media" BS is what you also get from any pro sports. Plus, if you watch Junior hockey then you get a better chance of witnessing a bench fight :D:lol

I love that NHL.com does this...

If the NHL regular season ended today:

So many great playoff match ups here :lecture

Rangers would slaughter the Leafs :lol!

Nice. I like the Blues and what they've built the last couple years, but i think the Red Wings are gonna run away with the west this year.

Same, Blues are killing it lately...I thin it all had to do with Hitchcock taking over as coach. As much as you're right about Detroit, it'd be a lot nicer to see San Jose pick it up. I love Big Joe :D

What do they put in the water in Ontario :slap

I would guarantee, that if you dont live in Canada, you have no clue who Steven Stamkos is, Id even bet 95% of people in Florida dont know who Stamkos is.And to say hes better than Malkin, you must be high. Like someone said, hes Brett Hull part 2

stamkos-NHL12-cover.jpg

Uhh?..when was Malkin last on the cover of any EA NHL game?. XD

I guarantee,if you are like the majority of American NHL fans(casual fans) that need a player with a schtick like OV or Avery to keep you interested, chant "USA USA" when your team is built up of almost all Canadians, needed lasers coming out of the pucks to help you keep up, needed lots of swearing and yelling on 24/7 to keep you interested yet against fighting in the NHL...then, you haven't got a ____in clue about anyone or anything going on in this game, and i think the worst guys to hear criticism from are the ones that think they know what the game is like and how its played, the culture etc.. yet, can't even skate or even played one house league game in their life.

Don't worry. Those exact people will be showing up in this thread in a couple months for the playoffs. I can't wait.

Yea Pitt's been firing on all cyilinders for the majority of this season, you've got scoring right down the line from that team, same can't be said for Tampa so, i give Stamkos more credit and not to mention his previous efforts in years past.
