HABS ----- GREATEST HOCKEY DYNASTY OF ALL TIME.

Whats funny is when I hear a guy from Texas or Colorado think he knows hockey....like the famous quote goes...We breed them, you buy them.

People in Canada plays hockey 365 days a year.We live and breathe hockey.Of course, you wouldnt know these things.

Roy IS Montreal, its not his fault Tremblay's a dick, that is the ONLY reason he joined the Av's. I like the Av's, nothing against them, in fact I think they've been wonderful over the past 12 years. However, lets not forget that they fell ass backwards into Roy, good timing, nothing more. Not a single cup would they have won without him.

Why is it that Roy is coaching in the Quebec league? Its because he's a Quebec native hence always will be a Canadien. Roy joining the Av's was purely a "rebound" or revenge against one rotten apple that happened to coach the Habs in the early 90's.

He proved his point, retired, now living back in Quebec where he belongs.

Just my 2 cents..................

Very well said.....

whatever. go pour some maple syrup on your ham.:lol

Prove me wrong if they had a lot of teams to play against when they won.

You got it....they won the cup in 1915-16, 1923-24, 1929-30, 1930-31, 1943-44, 1945-46, 1952-53, 1955-56, 1956-57, 1957-58, 1958-59, 1959-60, 1964-65, 1965-66, 1967-68, 1968-69, 1970-71, 1972-73, 1975-76, 1976-77, 1977-78, 1978-79, 1985-86, 1992-93.... which totals 24 cups. There were six original teams and the league had 12 teams when the Habs won the Cup in 67-68. 14 teams in 70-71. 16 teams in 72-73. 18 teams in 75-76, 76-77, 77-78 and 78-79. 21 teams in 85-86 and 24 in 92-93. So your comment about a handful of teams is like I said Crap.

So you're saying that Detroit, New York, Boston, Chicago and Toronto all sucked ass for every cup the Habs won? You're saying that if there were around 25-30 teams in the league at the time the Canadiens wouldn't have won as many cups?

They were one of the last teams to win the cup 4 years in a row (76-79) during which the NHL had 18 teams, not 6. You make it sound like each of the other 5 teams had special olympic players on them. Winnings winning.

According to him it's easy.

Thanks for proving my point. I said a handful when you won more then half and unless you have some seriously fed up math in Canada I am right. I count 14 of 24 which is greater the half when there was the original 6 plus a few others here and there that didnt last long. Sorry when you have about a 1 in 6 chance to win its much easier to win.

Actually thats exactly the point. Lets see when you have a to beat 5 teams and only 2 in the playoffs its easier then competing against 4 to 5 times that many teams and have to win twice as many playoff series.
