]Seriously, you gotta give credit where credit is due! Its like saying the Yankees are a fluke franchise.
They actually had over twice the competition in the early years.

Thanks for proving my point. I said a handful when you won more then half and unless you have some seriously fed up math in Canada I am right. I count 14 of 24 which is greater the half when there was the original 6 plus a few others here and there that didnt last long. Sorry when you have about a 1 in 6 chance to win its much easier to win.
Do I need to translate this for you?You didn't say half...don't go changing your statement now. You said when they won. And I proved it. Now you want to change your statement? You obviously know little about hockey.
You're saying it's their fault there were only 6 original? Why didn't any other teams dominate? Like Voorhees asked...did all the other teams suck? Most leagues starting out only have few teams why aren't there dominate teams in those leagues as well? The Yankees are the only other team that can claim that.
Its easy to win when you only play a handful of teams for over half of those cups.
Do I need to translate this for you?
So read before you try to make a point you can't make.
As for no other dominant teams, thats wrong too.
In the early NBA first 23 years 11 for the Celtics or even the Lakers winning g 5 of first 8. Plus the ended up with 30 or the 60 so far. Seems pretty dominate to me.
LOL thats the funniest thing I have read in a long time. I am foolish, yet I am the one who is right. I never said they didn't dominate i said its easier to when you play a lot less teams. Also I am the one who is able to read so I must be foolish. Not to the point the Habs have dominated. NO ONE other than the Yankees has more Championships that Montreal. My point was made with my first retort. 24 cups....need I say more? You can try to lessen the domination...but you can't. You just look foolish. The easy comment shows you probably never played organized sports ever. Now go ahead and lie to me....

The Yankees is actually much more impressive since there were twice the teams even in the beginning. and have been able to continue to be a top team. (Even if I hate them)
As for never playing organized sports thats pretty funny.
I played Soccer for about 12 years , even coached for 4 years and win a CIF championship, played baseball for 6 years, basketball for 2, ran track for 2, played hockey for 4, and I have even golfed for 26 years including a maybe 5 or 6 tournaments against a kid name Eldrick.
Its easy to win when you only play a handful of teams for over half of those cups.
Then quit making asinine statements. IF and that's a big if, that's true you would think you would know it's never easy. 24 Cups is a great achievement and you TRYING to lessen it shows jealousy.
No you wrote it's easy. For someone who claims to know how to read...there's a difference between easy and easier. I like how you change your wording to suit your argument. Proves me right. Maybe comprehending is your problem.
Did I ever say it was not a great achievement? NO
Ok easy and easier pretty much the same thing. Mr. English professor is this better? Its easy to win when you have a 1 in 6 chance to win. I didn't use the word easier to change my argument, i used it because it was the correct word for that sentence. Next time I will make sure I have my English professor proof read for me.
As for things being easy in sport yes it can be. I played for a few teams where it was easy to win, and played against some teams where it was easy. Hell playing against Eldrick would be the absolute definition of easy. We would get out ***** kicked by him. They could have had him played from the whites when we were kids and he would have still won.
Don't make me get into the other reasons it can be easy.
I see where the problem lies...you're reliving your high school days. Let me clear this up for ya....we're talking Professional sports here, not Elementary School, High School or JUCO. Professional sports, with professional athletes and with six teams, not diluted professional sports like we see today...understand? The best of the best....on every team. No 40% free throw shooters or .200 hitters. Talent at every position. And yet the Canadiens still dominated.
You really think easy and easier are the same? I feel for ya. LOL....and you were a coach? The correct way to make that stoopid statement would be...It's easier to win with a 1 in 6 chance. Easier would mean less difficult. Easy is self explanatory....maybe
What I love is people raving about a teams past when they were not even alive to see most of it.
Yeah unless the guy is my dads age or older he missed a lot of them.
Not diluted yeah I will give you that but a MUCH smaller talent pool also. There was also very little competition for players too. If a player was from your area you had first dibs no matter what. Then add in these were basically lifetime contacts, you couldn't leave a go to a another team, the team owned you ass and if you wanted to go somewhere else you were screwed, unless the team traded you. There was no free agency there was no end of contracts you were on that team until the team said so or you quit hockey all together. So if you managed to get the better talent in the beginning you would never lose it and you could just keep adding to it. Not to mention that one owner had control of pretty much 4 teams at once and made sure that one of them was a top dog and just let the other kinda exist. So it really was more like 1 in 3 chance since there were only really 3 constantly good teams. I would take those odds to win a championship any day.
Well it's like people bringing up and the great Yankee teams of the past and they are only 30 years old themselves.
Uhhh....yeah it's called History....crack a freakin' book open and quit playin with toys so much. You should be leavin' em in the package anyway. LOL
I am well aware of what history is. It just makes me laugh when people who were not around it try to claim to be a part of it. "We won cups back then"....really? What was it like? Oh, people who were not there don't know.
Oh, and anyone who leaves a statue in the box ( unless it's for space/flipping reasons until later ) is an idiot.
Oh, and anyone who leaves a statue in the box ( unless it's for space/flipping reasons until later ) is an idiot.
I just want to know what it's like to win a cup once
