MARIAN HOSSA

PETR SYKORA

RYAN MALONE

JORDAN STAAL

Heck, even Pascal Dupuis has been great on the PK and has averaged close to a PPG for the Pens! :D

They have a great shot. I get to see allot of their games as I live pretty close. They have really been coming on as of late and Fluery has come around nicely since coming back from his injury.

Hossa has been a BUST for you guys and he's always been a no show come playoff time.

You do understand that the playoffs are a whole new monster, and while Marian Hossa hasn't lived up to the hype or his skillset... Pascal Dupuis has been a huge pleasant surprise for the Penguins! Who would have thought he would have been our best player so far in that trade? He plays both ends of the ice very well, and while it has been just a dozen-or-so games, he has had the best PPG avg. in his career with the flying impaired birds.

Hossa will come around, and even if he doesn't, the Penguins were (going to contradict an earlier statement), flying high regardless of the Slovak stud being highly productive or not. It's just another piece to add to the arsenal. It doesn't hurt to have arguably the two most dominate centermen to ever lace up skates on one team in the past 10 years either since Mario Lemieux and Ron Francis. Awww Those were the days. I miss 91-97.

Scoring isn't a concern for me, it's more-or-less the goaltending that is a worry. Can Ty Conklin and Marc-Andre Fleury keep up their high-level of success into the playoffs?

I gotta give it to Shai, his Habs could go very deep this year... Perhaps even to the finals. Their power play has been the most potent in the past two years. You know your PP is good when you lose your top PP guy (Sheldon Souray) last Summer, yet you're still tops in the league. You know your doing well when you can make one of your top offensive dmen into a forward for half of the season in Mark Streit. Kudos to Streit for putting up a monster season (81-13-49-62). Not bad for the former Int. Swiss captain who was taken very late in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft at the not-so-tender age of 27.

Then you have the revival of Alexei Kovalev's game, who many argue to be the best all-around hockey talent in the world in terms of his hands and feet. Guy is a slick stickhandler, and smooth skater. Amagine if he had Crosby's drive and hockey IQ. Scary!

Their team has insane forward depth. From your Kovalevs, to your Chris Higgins, down to even your Guillaume Latendresses, and Maxim Lapierres... solid blueline, but lets skip that...

One man... Carey Price.....who was the sole reason why the Hamilton Bulldogs won the Calder Cup last Spring. I saw him play my Manitoba Moose, and despite my team clearly being the better team of the two, and dominating each game, Price shut them out, and would inevitably shut down two other teams en-route to a championship title. They have quite a few of those former Bulldog alumni on that Habs roster, so they know what kind of drive and determination it will take to go all the way.

Hey Eli....are you in the Pittsburgh area and get to many games? I get there when the Habs are in town but haven't gone for a few years. Seeing it in person is the way to go in my book.

Most games I watch are in person, and no, I live in Canada. I am a season ticket holder to an AHL franchise. Still great hockey, and at a fraction of the price of a NHL game! Hey, over 700 NHL players, which makes up for 85 percent of the league's total number, are former AHL alumni.

Having said all of that, I love my Pittsburgh Penguins.. been following them closely since 1991. I was a little kid then, I remember being blown away by Mario Lemieux having a Minnesota player (Basil McRae or Mark Tinordi?) hugging his leg, trying to haul him down, but No. 66 kept going, and made a sick deke and undressed Jon Casey. That was when I knew I loved the Penguins. Sure you can say I only fell in love with the team because they won a Stanley Cup that year (btw that game was 8-0 win in game 6 of the 91 Cup Finals), but I never stopped loving that team, even through those gosh awful years from 02-06. Yuck!

btw I also collect AHL and NHL game worn gear and jerseys. I may put all my attention into collecting game worn hockey jerseys, rather than splitting my funds between SideShow statues and hockey. Well... maybe.

Anyone collect hockey memorabilia?

i have a couple seats from the old Met Center before they tore it down after the North stars moved to dallas. i think they are in storage somewhere. i also have a bunch of Jagr stuff cuz he was my favorite player. i got a Jagr Penguins jersey and a bunch of those starting line up figures, and bobble heads etc. i also have his rookie card sealed up and graded i believe.

Dude, we should go see a Wild game together! :)

Love the Excel Engery Center!

btw You must have hated Mr. Green...

Yes I do as well... I have a Authentic Montreal Canadiens Patrick Roy jersey from the 93 Stanley Cup finals as well as a signed Bauer stick signed by the Habs, a game used Vinny Damphousse Stick and a seat from the Old Montreal Forum. The Jersey and Seat are my favorites. I would love to see some pics of your memorabilia. I'll take some and post it as well.

EDIT: I almost forgot a Revolution P Roy goalie stick as well and a Autographed Beckett Hockey guide cover with Patrick on the cover. I got this in person at a New England card show in 1992....It was awesome meeting him!

I just got a game worn Alexander Edler, Luc Bourdon, and Michael Grabner jersey... one is a playoff set jersey, the other two are special jerseys. One is a Team Canada jersey (Bourdon), and the other is a military scheme (Grabner).

I want to get a game worn Milan Lucic and Ryan Getzlaf off of Meigray.com...

Definitely we should post pictures!

Will do! I have one more jersey from Team USA a John LeClair jersey...He was one of my favorite Players for the Habs. He really was the difference in the Cup Finals win over the Kings.

Much smaller talent pool? You've got to be kidding...right? There were 6 teams! You didn't need many players...the talent pool was vast. And the best statement "one owner made sure that one of them was a top dog and just let the other kinda exist". Now why would he do that when they are trying to make the league flourish? Doesn't make much sense does it? That is the most ridiculous statement you've made. Maybe even more so than Easy and Easier. Do you make this crap up as you go along? And they were all good, talented teams. And even if you could remove half the cups they still have more than any team in the NHL. So your argument just doesn't wash...ya know?

Read up on the History bud. Then owner of the Red Wings also had effective ownership in the Blackhawks, plus was the majority share holder of the Rangers, and controlled many loans the Bruins had. So yeah he effectivly controlled 4 of the 6 teams. None of the teams but the Red Wings did well for the most part. There were only a handful of wins by any of the teams not in Detroit, Toronto or Montreal. Is that a coincidence?

And what is this "ya know" is that some sort of weird language?

.........a little.:lol thats all ancient history now though. we got the wild selling out every single night now.:D

You seriously Rock Bro !!!! :rock:rock:rock

I see you're the real deal as far as a habs fan.

The old Forum has now become a cinema complex, but they kept some of those chairs in the middle of where was once the ice, as a tribute.Everybody feels nostalgic when they see that sight.Theres also a Maurice Richard statue near that place.

the old Met Center is now the parking lot for the Mall of America i believe. And the Mall of America used to be the old Metropolitan Stadium. it still has some seats in it, as well as a bronzed home plate or something like that.

Thanks. Unfortunately I have never been to the Forum. I always planned to go but never made it....you know how that goes. Did you ever have the pleasure of getting there?

I been to Montreal! Does that count? I think I may have seen the Habs play in person back when Winnipeg had the Jets.

Sure it counts....how was it? I would have been in awe walking into that place. It probably would have took a hour or so to calm down and really enjoy the sites. The new plan is to visit the Bell Center....but with a family iit get difficult sometimes.
